Mickey Thompson is pretty popular. I see that name alot on here. Like 250 a tire but worth the money. BFGoodrich is also a common name. Tirerack.com sells them for a pretty good price...if you have an 8" rim the highest you can go is like a 255ish...not sure if you can fit a 275 on there safely but i heard people saying they were going to try it...but i wouldnt.

Popular name means nothing its what compromise of street to drag tire do you want. Generally its like this.

Nitto drags-last the longest but hook the least out of all 3.
BFG drags-shorter tread life then nittos but hooker up harder.
Mickey Thompson's- Hook the best and last the shortest amount of time.

Your looking at 15k with nittos,8-10k with bfgs and MTs will last about 5-8k miles.

So if you want the longest life then nittos are for you, if you want the best traction and tire life doesnt matter Mt's are where its at.

i have used all but BFgs and i can tell you i got 15k many times out of my nitto drags. MTs however didnt last long but hooked the hardest.

You can run a 275/40/17 out back on the stock wheels i have been for years

<---------------------pic 275 on 8" wheel.

Glad we could help out. Be sure to get some heat in them at the track so they hook up.
