fire....
well last thurs at the start of spring break we had a BAD fire at our fraternity house...
Thank God noone was hurt...
Evidently it was an electrical fire. There was an electrical outlet that was up against some expanding foam insulation. Evidently that was very flamable. The fire spread between the 2nd floor ceiling and 3rd floor floor and made its way to an outside wall and into a small allyway. That side of the house was covered in 50yr ol red shingles now know as gasoline shingles... well they went up in flames too.
the fire was burning for a good half hour before anyone realized that there was a fire...
we smelt smoke but couldnt find a fire and figured it was coming from outside...
When we finally found the fire... We cleared out 1o or so people, a dog, and kicked in every door to make sure everyone was out in less then 3 minutes...
in three minutes the fire went from barely noticable to a REALLY big fire...

Good thing we had fire insurance so the floors and walls that needed to be reaplaced will now be replaced...
AND... in one of the bedrooms we have an antique marble fireplace, one of the contractors told us it was worth at least $60k!
so i guess more good will come of this than bad.
