Default Anyone Seen this before?

In june i put on

17x10.5" 03 chrome cobra wheels on the rear with 315/35/17 BFGoodrich T/A KD's.

17x9" 03 Chrome Cobra Wheels on the front w/ 275/40/17 BFGoodrich T/A KD's

i also put a set of Eibach Sportline Lowering Springs.

i've noticed the outside lip of both my rear tires has been getting shaved off. on the passenger side rear the metal lip inside the fender is getting bent.

it only does it on the rear, and I don't know if it's the springs or the tires, or what the deal is but it's getting on my nerves.

pic is attached, you may have to save it and zoom in, but if you look closely you can see the jagged edges where it's coming off. it does this on both sides (rear only), and goes all the way around the tires

Nope, I dont have one. I just found out the reason my fender was cutting into my tire was bc I had a blown Shock. So I got me some Billsteins and haven't had any trouble since then. Do you still not have the Shift Light installed? According to that quote, it should be a four hour job the way they used to charge by the hour, that's horrible. I did the install for my first time ever in like 30 minutes. Did Aaron ever get that installed for you?
since you are running sportlines there is a good chance that you blew your shocks and struts. they arent valved for that low of a drop. looks like its time to throw some more money into the pit.

sucks that your tires took some hits those things are 270 a peice. OUCH!!!

wouldn't i notice it though if my shocks and struts were blown? cause i dont hear any creaking noises, and the ride quality is pretty good.

thinking about strange struts and shocks...10 way adjustables.

$827.34 for all 4 tires.

Fronts were $284.10
Rears were $543.24

get the strange struts and shocks if you plan to drag race...look at my thread for my suspension. i know they have different sets but they could still make noise. if you dont want the noise then get the KYGB or whatever they are called spike has them and he likes them plus they are really affordable.

those rear tires are stupid expensive.

now if you dont want to change your shocks to see if it fixes your problem you can get your fenders rolled.

i dont recommend any of this but these are options
1. get pliers and try to fold it up and smooth it out as best you can
2. get some metal working tools like a hammer and some dyes to help roll the fender
3. just get a hammer and bend that inner fender enough to where it doesnt hit your tire.

alright...i been wanting to replace the shocks and struts anyway...they're junk stockers.

im not much of a drag racer, so guess there is no need for Strange then.

KYB sounds good then. im not paying no $600 for stupid Billstein's either...those prices are just insane, and they're not that good anyhow.

really wanted a set of upper/lower ca's to go with the install, and some mm cc plates, and a steeda bumpsteer.

i may do do the rear shocks first...and then the struts later..the front is still good, but i need to get the cc plates and bumpsteer before i install the struts....better to do it all at once.

you have to take all of the panels out of your trunk to intstall the shocks. i thought that was the hard part for the shocks. the panels were a SOB to get out with out cracking. i give the shocks a 3 on difficult rating.

the struts are a little more involved you will have to support your A arm with a jack. you might need a impact gun to get the strut top nut off (lol) and then there is the problem with the 2 big nuts on the spindle that the rest of the strut connects too. i say problem because mine were a bitch to get off i didnt use PB blaster so i just got a BFW and broke them loose. 3/4" drive to be exact impact gun couldnt do it. i give these a 6 because of the stock or aftermarket caster camber plates. take a pic of how they look or mark them with a marker before you tear it apart.

im not a pro at this stuff so other people may have a better way to do it. but thats how i put mine in.

edit: if you want more info on suspension stuff read r3dn3cks sticky. good stuff in there especially the Pan Hard Bar.

I had the same issue and it may be a combination of your shocks and springs. What is happening is that your wheels extend pass your fender. When you carry extra passengers or hit a big dip or speed bump your fender is making contact with the tire. You can either make sure that you get the clearance you need or add stiffer shocks, springs or both so that is does not go that low. I think its best to roll the lip as the new stangs dont have that lip and they look fine without it. I would have it professionly done.
