Default Stomped a turbo SVT focus

Last nite I was out with some friends and some boys from out of town came in talking trash. They claimed they had this "oh so fast focus" which seemed decent being an SVT w/ turbo, well it looked good. MY buddy and i walked over and asked about the car and the guy was being a dick and was like i'll walk anything you guys got here...we laughed at him. So we proposed to him he could line up w/ either my 02 convertible or my buddies 03 coupe....guy and his friends came over and checked out our cars, they questioned alot about mine and then backed out after they herd it running...they jumped on my buddies GT coupe..he's only got intake and exhaust and diablo sport. The focus boy was all about walking all over this GT says he does it all day long to GT's well we put him in his place last nite..I drove my buddies GT and the 1st time we ran I ate him up from a dead stop badly, so he wanted to go again..claimed he wasnt ready. So we ran again frum a 1st gear roll...we told the boy go when he was ready...so he got about 1/2 a car and the kick....sadly i yanked 3 cars then proceeded to pull about 3 more when i let out of it. So we head back to our hangout spot...in the turn lane dude pulles up...his car is Smoking heavily and idleing at about 3k-4K rpms!! we get back and everyone laughed at him....he broke his Transmission mount, oil feed line was busted and blew the headgasket too....said he's be back next weekened...yea he's not coming back.

Thats what they say about Drag racing at the actual strip...no matter what whenever you get behind of a car pushin over 300 hp your life is at risk...it does sound hypicritical that we're all hear trying to make our cars quicker...

and while yes there is a very serious danger in racing if your not smart enough to make a good judgement then you shouldn't be behind the wheel...

stfu. if you can honestly tell me you NEVER go ONE mph over the limit, then you have a perfectly good argument. But fact is, I go 5mph over all the time, I speed. I bet you do too. if not, fine, then youre a 100% safe driver. Still doesnt mean you EVER have the right to tell someone else how you feel about something that you too are guilty of. Street Racing is illegal..yea everyone knows that but it's funny when cops know you do and tell you "be careful and dont be out here late doing it". Tell the millions of people that do street race the same thing...and what do they say....so, it's not illegal to you get caught! And yes i myself have been caught before..not too fun b/c they impounded my car..but i still do it depened on who the person is and how they drive..if i see them driving stupid jus in a parking lot...No i'm not taking the chance. 4.6 Love....you admited you street raced before and more than likely if someone else comes and revs at you or talks trash saying ur car is slow....your gonna think about racing them and prove them wrong..so why talk bad when you yourself do it or did it to!

Off to the smack this goes. This is a stupid argument anyway. It will never be solved, so you may as well just take your side, and stick with it, you wont change the other persons mind. Street racing is dangerous, it kills people, but we arent going to stop it, thats for damn sure. Just be careful and if you feel the need to race, go to the track, or find a desolate piece of highway somewhere that the only person youll kill is yourself.

If people don't stop fighting in these threads (as entertaining as it is) I am simply going to delete any thread or post that makes any reference to street racing.

Look, street racing is street racing any way you look at it. You guys who use the excuse that other people do it so it must be ok, really scare me. That is a really immature attitude...imagine generalizing that statement about other things in life?

What is allowed on this site and what is not, is not always easily defined. However, discussions of any illegal activities are forbidden in the rules of the forum.

If you want to talk about a kill on the street, be clear in your post. Saying that you pulled on a guy w/o exceeding the speed limit is a much different conversation then talking about how you lined-up at a stop light and raced in traffic until 135 mph. See my point?

Finding a deserted road to race or racing on I-95 is still illegal any way you look at it no matter what the circumstances.

And anyone who has had their car impounded for street racing and still does it....well, I have no words. You have left me speechless. You will die sooner or later and I just hope you don't take anyone with you because obviously you don't get the point. If you value your life, you will go find a track. Driving a high-performance car takes a lot of maturity and responsibility.

Personally, one of the reasons why I don't do it is because I have too much to loose. I have two kids and a wife that depend on my ability to drive so I can make an income. A violation for street racing would prevent me from doing that and cause me to loose my company car if not my high-dollar job.

If you have nothing to loose and thusly don't care, just remember that there are other people who share the roads with you who do.

I admit, YES i street race! BUT i dont do it in the middle of traffic and rick lots of other lives....i go out on a back road late at nite or somewhere else w/ no one around...jus me, the other car, and 2 witnesses! I know it's illegal and yea like i said before i've been caught, that was when i was younger and raced people 6 out of 7 days. Now im slowly growing up sum..well very little and i'll do it on the weekends and usually not all the time only when someone calls me out or thinks they got something. Either way i know it's not a smart thing to be doing, but hey i work a full time job to and support my g/f and I but ***t happens everyday. Say what you want, think what you want.....BOY WILL BE BOYS...no matter what you say...60y/o men do it still w/ their corvettes and mustangs, even cops! But jus to let kno..yea i kno it need to be taken to the track...here in VA it's a lil different, we bring DRAG cars...no where near street legal off the trailers and street race....but like i said late at nite when no one is out on a old country back road...and these are grown adults! like i said tho....think what you want it's still gonna be done!

Dude you are killing me....not litterally, of course.

What kills me is your logic. Sure, I know it is going to happen no matter what I say or think, for that manner, so is a lot of other stuff.

A local cop just got arrested for requesting sexual favors from a minor after getting stopped? Does that make it right because a cop did it?

There are a lot of dumb young people as well as dumb old people, but just because a 60 year old does something, does not make it right or wrong for that manner. Right and wrong goes beyond all age boundaries.

With that said, I certainly agree that there is a level of, shall I say "ambiguity" when it comes to "street racing." If, by chance, someone were to street race on an abandoned air strip, I certainly would tend to think that that is quite a bit safer than say racing on I-95 in the middle of rush hour traffic. I am not saying, go do it, just that it is not as risky.

Look, racing is for the strip or track. If you want to race, race. I can't stop you, but we do not have to condone it on this site. We have a forum and a business to protect.

I would also not like to have to post a thread about someone's funneral services. Ever been to a child's funeral? It is not fun...I have been to too many.

I agree, just because other do it doesnt make it right, but people do it anyway, and yea i've been to funerals, matter of fact 1 was for a boy i knew who died racing...but was for his stupidity...100mph around a 25mph turn...jus dumb! But hey at least i admit it that i do race, but not all the time like some people. I posted about my fun friday nite..and i didnt think it was gonna turn into this big of a deal about street racing...anyone else post about racing someone else..a z06 to 150mph...no one downed that post about street racing, same w/ racing a VR4 and getin ate up. honestly about 3 hours ago...i was out in town w/ my mustang buddies...a lil honda tried to call us out and race..didnt do it b/c it was a waste of time...

Well your a better man then all of us...lol...actually back home in DC they opened up a Drag strip to stop all the racing, the only thing is though most racing is spontaneous, there are very few people that go out LOOKING for a race. I don't, but sometimes I gotta make a quick lil run to put a Honda Prelude in it's place...keeping it below the speed limit of course....
