1st off, Yes he was racing me. LOL. So I was coming out of Sonic and I turned on to the road. I saw a pretty blue ZO6 behind me and he was turning down the same road I was. I opened the bottle and flipped the switch. I wasnt sure if hed want to run because most corvette guys are older and they wont race me. Anyways I floored it at about 10mph and I roasted the tires alot out of first. I cought second real quick then I looked to see if he was behind me. He was right on my tail! Then I hit third and I started pulling away from him.I pulled about 2 or 3 cars on him then we let off. He let off the gas the same time I did. He pulled next to me and I still had my window rolled down. He rolled his down then and said he could tell I was spraying it. He said it was running great and it didnt smoke at all when the NOS hit. Then he continued to tell me that he had the spray too, but his wastnt turned on. He said he didnt think I would be so fast. I asked him what size shot he had and he said "150 fogger". Then he turned on the NOS and jumped the gun on me. We didnt get a decent run with both of us on the spray because of the road, but im sure he would have owned me. LOL. His girlfriend in the passenger side was scared and pissed at the same time. It was my goal this summer was to get this car fast enough to beat an 03 cobra, but I guess a ZO6 is just as good or even better..... Im going to the strip on tuesday and Ill post my times.

I dont understand I was pulling on him on the top end. Like you know, pulling away from him. How would he have caught me down the road? The only way he could do that is if he turns the spray on after I started pulling.

Probably because the Z06's run a low 12 1/4 dont they? Plus they can hit speeds a lot higher than a mustang, when yer car hits 125 the accelleration really really bogs down while the z06 will still be pulling untill about 140, about where yer gonna top off. Not to mention if he put Nitrous in it, im sure he has done other stuff as well.

I dunno, you got some good mods on yer car, but i cant see it beating a Z06.... well.. i guess it depends on the year. The 06 or 07, cant remember which, embarasses most supercars, in fact, the Saleen S7 and Ford GT are one a couple of cars than can actually beat the new Z06's

Actually, the only reason i can see you beat him is cause he knew he was pissing off his girlfriend and still wanted to get laid tonight.

hmm... my money is still on the Z06.... who knows...

Good kill! Those cars can run low 12's all day long, better with a good driver.
I had a guy even older than me (I know it's hard to believe) in a blue Z06 try to race me last Sat. nite. I was with my wife leaving the grocery store at 11:00 p.m., the Stang was loaded up with 9 bags of junk and this dude follows me out of the lot.We both make a left at the signal onto a 4 lane road (8 lanes divided) he get's on it and I don't. I had $213.00 worth of food in the trunk and wasn't about to spill 4 gallons of milk all over to race him. He looked dissapointed but between the wife the food and the fact that a police station is right across from the grocery store I thought it best to be a good boy. I'd have kicked his ass too since it was only a couple of blocks before his turn off, the 4.30's and converter would have spelled his end. I can whoop those cars off the line just like the Cobra's but they always run me down and blow my doors off. Once I install a few items this fall I will prey on them at will.
