THE 05 MUSTANG IS A QUITE A FINE AUTOMOBILE...
very nice bodystyle, except for the rear end... idk it just looks weird to me... and the engine is a little small... i personally think that ford should be puttin in better engine options... mustang + v6 doesn't match... ford needs to get back in the game... get a nice 351 with similar engine work and they've got a runner and a better sounding car... ------ the new chevy z06 corvette... chevy clames 6.0 LS7 500+ hp 30 MPG.... common ford i still wouldn'y mind having the mustang tho... it is impressive but could be better... |

I know my post is a little late but, I dont think this issue needs to be ended right just yet. It seems alot of us has our deferences on the 99-04 and then the 05. First let me give you my thoughts on it since i read through everyone elses. I also could have bought a 05 but i didnt. Yes its interior seems more apealing, yes it seems to handle a little bit better, yes it has more hp and yes it has the old style look that ford got away from in the first place for a reason. Why?, you say! Because you cant put all that ford greatness into something that looks that crappy. Ford must have some hippy working for them now that still hasnt came down yet. They my as well called the 05 a Ford Camero. No not saying that they look anything alike, just not what a 2005 mustang should look like. If we are going back in time and starting over in the 60s and 70s, id say we have another fourty years till we go back to my 04 body style. Sorry old timers but its our time. You had your chance. I dont think the guys that agree with me are jealus. I think they are pissed off because Ford made something that looks like a turd/monster truck/junkyard mustang but, I might have something for them. I'm going to write Ford tonite and suggest that the 07s come with a brush guard, some mudders and a KC light bar. then maybe it wouldn't look so bad....If anyone has that on their list of mods, post the pics after your done.

disagree on the 5.0L comment, for that matter the v-8 comment as well. see-understand the diference between ford and gm. ford puts a 4.6v8 in a mustang. gm puts a 5.7 in everything, and still some stock 4.6s have more power. power, thats what we are talking about right? so why does it matter how many cylinders it has or how many cubic inches? 5.0? now if we are going stock for stock the last gt with a 5.0 was in 1995 and specd out at 215hp, the 1995 cobra R with a 351 specd 300hp. now the 04 mustang gt specs out at 260, the mach 1s spec at what 308? 04 cobra 420? 05 gt specs at 300hp. these are all 4.6L. 2005 v6 specs out at 210, and i would adventure to say could take out a 1995 mustang 5.0L

ford doesnt make as much hp as the vette... and the mustangs really didnt match the power of the camaros... if ford brought back the 351 into production and did the same work that the do to the 4.6... theyd have a runner... and if they were able to make it an alluminum block... even better... I dont neccesarily think that ford should drop the 4.6... they should have more engine options though... and i doubt the v-6 can outrun a 5.0... v-8s get better torque than the v-6s... but they are real peppy cars... |

Say what you want, 94! FACT is the numbers speek for them selves. You want to say " cubic inches = more HP"? What did you not read my thread? You said if the 351 was brought back and the same work was done that was done to the 4.6 bla bla bla. Well you just proved my point PAL. Displacement does not = more horses. Technology = more Horsepower
As for ford and bigger engines, have you ever heard of CAFE? The reason GM and there camero could do it, is because they would rather feed another country then to make there car slower. screw the american people without jobs they said. pretty much. Ya, thats right the camero was a import...... |
