Default THE OPINION OF THE PEOPLE!

All right so i was recently at a show and was accosted on having the bodykit i have installed, and that mustangs should be left bodykitless. then today on the forum i recieved the same thing from a member. So i want to know what yall (thats what we say in texas) think about body kits on stangs. yes or no. Back up that op with a good reason, and if you think body kits are legit, then post up pics and let everyone know about it.

Not a big fan of bodykits. there are very few that i really like. I dig the roush bodykits, the saleens are not bad but really only belong on a saleen.

There are a lot of people who are gonna dog on your stang with the kit and the wing you chose.

While i dont much like your body kit, or your wing... based on the one side pic ive seen the bodykit looks well painted and fitted. its obvious you spend time making your mustang shine.

it boils down to this fact, nobody has to like it but you. There are plenty of people who will appreciate the work you have done on your stang.

dont worry about the haters, it is YOUR mustang to do what YOU feel like. However, if you post up on a forumboard people will be pretty unapologetic if thier opinion is a negative one.

A lot of people on here prefer spending money on performance instead of looks.

BTW, Welcome to the boards!

Post up some more pics.

ha the encouragement is heart warming lol *as pukes on laptop* my car has the bang under the hood. every penny i mek goes to my car or paking my tuition so i wouldnt be caught dead ricing. however, the goal of my car is to try to bridge the gap between import tuners and classic muscle. I want my car to spike controversy. but i didnt start this thread for your opinion on my car, i started it for the opinion on bodykits in general lol. on that note the widebody apr kit is #1 in my book

Some bodykits can look good. Most don't, though. Post more pics of yours, cause I can't tell from that one pic.

I don't like the fact that it doesn't flow....

If you pay attention to the APR kit it seems to flow better with the factory lines.

The good thing about Roush and Saleen is that they spend TONS and TONS of money and time on design. I watched a video on the interwebs one time about the design of the Cobra R and how over 400 prototypes were drawn up of just the body design....

The standard kits like you see on mrbodykits.com or extreme dimensions are junk. They're not design they're just reproduced from year to year.

In all greatness I do like body kits that differ from the rest like the Cervini's kits, the APR kit, and the Heritage Saleen kit.

IMHO the body kit you have doesn't flow at all...the front bumper looks blockie, and the side skirts don't even look like they're meant for your car.

Welcome though.

yea the pic aint really flattering either lol but i can see where your coming from. what about veilside, you seem interested in tons and tons of money spent on design, yet veilside wasnt mentioned. tehy spent max bank developing their parts and i dont think they look good at all, but you can be the judge.

the thing about aftermarket body kits, to me at least, is that it makes it look like its a show car instead of a performance one. Your body kit does just that but, if it's worth anything, I like it.

yea i think alot of people think that, but just because it looks nice with extra peices doesnt mean it doesnt perform any differently than someone elses car. It must be that old-style-hot-rod mentallity, and in no way is hat to offend anybody because i appreciate every car in any shape or form (well thats a lie, if your all show and no go then i cant appreciate that) but i think people stereo type body kits to the street-racing-trailer-queen-fast-and-furious type of life style. i have my bod kit because i know i wont be the same as anyone else, plus i like the way it looks too. i like to break conventional thinking and boundaries, and applying that to my car passion was innevitable. i dont mind the hate and i appreciate the complements, but im mainly here just to see what yall think about hotly debated topics, which the bodykit/no body kit topic seems to be.

See, there's another good point. The front of the veilside kits looks good, but the side and rear looks horrible. The front is smooth and modern looking, but the side skirts and rear once again look blockie. It's a very fine line that many do not understand.

Didn't really read this whole thread but I think Bodykitz are great. It's whatever you like & that's all that should matter. To me, Mustangs look great stock but there is definitely no harm in adding a bit of fierce to it.
