Grab a hair dryer, heat up the stripes and peel them off.

so if i wanted to take the black mustang stripes off the sides, i just heat them up with a hair dryer? Will the paint be faded since my car is 7 yrs old?

It's a hit or miss how the paint will look, if it doesn't match the rest of the paint just go get some paint cleaner and polish and spend a few hours buffing the area and it should look fine.

it must have had a previous owner. 40th ann editions didn't come with that kind of stripe and your car has a spoiler. All 2004's have the same badge

how long does it usually take to heat the stickers up and remove them?

Probably holding it in one place of the stripe for about 20 seconds will be enough to melt the glue, you'll be able to tell when you can move the stripe around easily.

ok, well i think that the 40th, was just the base model, the hood scoop, spoiler, pin striping, were all little things to make it "special" take a look at this, http://www.mustangforums.com/upfiles...42AA42D330.jpgits a stock mustang 40th, v6, but has a hood scoop, spoiler, but no stripes, so i think that if u get one, it can have a combo of any of them, then look at this article,http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_Mu...rsary_editions and go to the thing that says 2.11 anniversary editions, and read the part at the bottom.

yeah thats basically what I was saying. Every 2004 is a "40th ann" v6, GT they all have the badge no matter what edition. However, the special editions has another emblem that is inside the car by the shifter, no spoiler, side stripe, some interior upgrades. Basically looks like this:

nice system by the way

like i said i guess they did this, to make eathch stang "special" but another thing i have noticed was that alot of v6ers have a hood scoop, and no spoiler, but no stripes, and thoes long thin parts on the door? another quick article, go to the v6 part, its less then half way down the page http://mustangforums.com/timeline/2003-ford-mustang/
