Default Amplifier Questions

I've replaced my standard mustang speakers and head unit already and now I'm moving onto the big step of adding a subwoofer, but I need some help.

So far I've purchased:

MTX T5510-04 subwoofer
http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAu...roductID=17020
and loaded it into this enclosure.
http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Bass-...oductDetail.do

Now I just need to choose a proper amplifier and figure out where I'm going to hide it. I'm currently looking at the Sony XM-1s amp.
http://www.crutchfield.com/S-omf8gCm...aspx?i=158XM1S

Here's my questions:
Will this amp work well with my sub?
Does it have too much or too little power?
Can I place it in my spare tire slot under the carpet in my trunk? I have removed my spare tire in my 2000 mustang a while back and now use the space to hold jumper cables and an air pump. I was thinking this might be a good place to put the amp so it's out of sight and easy to the hide wires. I just don't know if there is enough ventilation for the amp in there. I do hear that this amp is suppose to run very cool.

if i were you i woulda went with this box http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Produ...4QB1103&tp=128 if it would fit. i have a Rockford Fosgate Punch amp and i have 1 12" JL Audio sub(bridged hook up) in a box like that but its longer and bigger. hooked up to my kenwood CD Deck. anyway it hits pretty good... i have a neighbor i saw at the gas station and he asked me "wtf do you have in there? everytime you go pass my house all i can hear is bass" Ha but i sold my kenwood CD Deck, 4 kenwood 6x9's, 4 kenwood tweeters, the rockford amp, another amp, and that sub for 200bucks(to an uncle)(i paid well over 700 for all of it) and he also helped me move. so now all i have is a clarion cd deck hooked up to everything stock. it dont bother me, id rather hear my car anyway.

the sub you have ir rated for 300watts rms and 600 watts max so dont get amp that is pushing more than that. and hes right get a name brand amp a 500 watt amp is way enough and no the spare tire hole isnt going to get enough ventilation find another spot

What head unit do you have? Did you buy it off of that site?

if it's 300 watts RMS you want to make sure your amp is at least 300 watts RMS as well. speakers are more likely to be damaged by under powering them. Don't get all crazy either and hook them up o a 500 watt RMS amp, but something in the neighborhood of 300-350 RMS watts won't really hurt the speaker. Its your call though, 290 is damn close and not likely to hurt anything either.

I have the new Pioneer 6000, got it at CCity
http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Pione...oductDetail.do

I work at Circuit City, but our knowledgeable car audio guys left, so now I'm a bit stuck.

My managers are cool so I've received amazing deals on my deck, speakers, sub, and enclosure. Just need to pick an amp now, but we really don't have that great of a selection.

Now I'm looking at this Pioneer amp.
Name brand and I love my pioneer deck.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...0&Tpk=GM-5300T

and surprisingly enough I think Circuit City carries it, so I can get it for cheap!

Don't want to hijack this thread but I don't really see a point in making a new one... does anyone have any advice on this equipment. I am looking for something that will sound good. Not too deep, and for a good, not to cheap but not to expensive price.
Head unit:http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAu...roductID=18375
Subs: http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAu...roductID=13517
Box: http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAu...roductID=18770
The boxes on here seem kind of pricey, I will call around to some audio shops and see what other prices are available to me. As for an amp, I really wouldn't know what I would need, so if anyone could reccomend one that would be great.
