Default New Audio

So, I got a deal..and I couldn't really pass it.. just want to see how this sounds to the rest of yall.

3 - JL Audio W3s - 10 inch subs
1. Performance Teknique 2000watt 2 channel
Custom box to fit in the back of the stang for the subs.

Total cost for these three $240

Kenwood Touch Screen Deck - $650

Soon to come MB Quart Components, probably going to power with a performance teknique amplifier as well.

I haven't heard alot about Perfomance Teknique, I had one, it had a shortage, and I got rid of it. This one is brand new, still in the box..

Anyone hear about this company?

I figured I woudln't get 2 thousand out of it, but I didn't think it'd short me 1500 watts.

Either way, its not like I paid full price for it, when the install is done, the guy will test it, find out what its actually putting out, if its not putting out and its underpowering the subs, then i'll pawn it, get a little bit of my cash back, and buy a better amp.

Hifonics was what I origionally wanted to go with, and what I was origionally going to get, but my friend ended up using those amplifiers for his car.

I know the more you spend the better you get.. but I was hoping I could get lucky.

If you think you are going to put down 1500-2000 watts rms you will be having charging issues. I seriously doubt you will get that much out of a no name amp.

What amp fuse does the amp use and how many, 15amp,30amp etc.

Its an 80amp on it, I didn't think I'd put out 1500 - 2000, I was more a less hoping for atleast 700-800.

I'm seeing quite a few audio places around here carrying them nowdays, so maybe its a newer company or something..

If its an 80amp then there some hefty power requirements which I think you may have charging issues at night with lights and AC on.

Im not saying they are a bad brand but Ive never heard of them but then again I have been out of the car audio for a while. I think the really good amps dont advertise max power as thats gay only RMS power is whats count. Take a look for yourself. This amp gives you 2000watts max which meam that at full blast with music sounding horribly distorted it will give you 2000 watts. I dont know about you but I dont listen to distorted music so max power does not mean anything.

ChrisGT: I didn't search, I actually paid $115 for the amp from a friend, normal price for the amp is a little more then that.

And yea venom, I imagined I'd have charging issues, I've got capacitors and if that won't cut it, I'll go with another battery and relocate the battery to my trunk.

The last subwoofer I pushed was one 12 w3 and my lights were dimming, and I had no cap.

Like I said though, if it turns out being a huge peice of ****, I'll pawn it, cut my losses, and buy something thats better, but still somewhat affordable like Hifonics.

I just had a deal cut, I figured I'd give it a chance. I mean for the 3 subs, box, and amp, I paid $240 because the guy ripped it out of his cobra to cut down his weight, he kept breaking..something in his rear end.. he just wanted it out of his garage. The amplifier I picked up for so cheap from him because someone had ordered it and never picked it up. (Hes got a vendors license)

The install won't be for a while, I'm going to do everything at once, so i need another amp, my components, ect.

I'm not going for competition quality, i'm just going for a nice good sound, thats all.

Yes but the difference between you and I chris is that I didn't search. You spent probably the same amount of money on that deck as you would have a reputable brand.

I spent less ;x

not quite. maybe you should've searched. I did and I must say I'm happy with my purchase. It seems to me that none of you have used the deck that i'm using but all of you want to bash it.
