Default Would it look funny...

I was wondering if you guys would think it would look a little off if I had black rims on my red mustang. The reason I ask is because I'm planning on getting some white rally stripes across the top and I thought it might look wierd with white across the top and black rims. I ask because I'll probably get some new rims here in a couple of months and I can't decide on whether to go chrome or black.

Black wheels (bullitts or FR500s) with the chrome lip = AWESOME on a red car.
You don't need black stripes to make it look good, smoked headlights, mustang letter inserts, mach chin makes it look nice.

Thats what I would do if I had a red car.
I'm actually leaning back towards black FR500's on mine instead of anthracite...maybe they'd look good with my black side stripes and insert letters.. I suck too much at PS to do a decent chop so all I can do is imagine how it would look.

Yea, I was plannin' on gettin the FR's and I was diggin' the black. That's why I asked. I guess I'll pass on the vinyl's and I'll just go with the rims. I was going to go ahead and order the chin spoiler but MT is out of stock so I'll just wait till I get some extra money and see if Randy can set me up with one. I was also planning on the SS inserts for my bumper because I already ordered the vinyl ones and they were ****, they didn't fit and didn't look as good as I was hoping they would.

Chrome looks great on red also.

what type of rims are you looking to get?

BTW...how far is Grove City to Cincy?

Grove City is only a few miles away from Columbus so the drive to Cin. is only about an hour and a half since 71 is a straight shot.

www.v6mustangstuff.com carries the chin spoiler..but they don't have a status indicator so...50/50 chance they have it.

As for your bumper inserts, that's strange, mine fit fine and look pretty nice

I ordered the vinyl ones from MT. The decal was a little too small so that edges would ride up on the slope of the cut-in. I pissed around with the one damn letter for a good 15 minutes before I just said **** it. They're lettin' me send 'em back because I didn't damage any of the letters. I'll probably use that money to get the 3rd piece to my grill delete because I got jipped and wasn't told that the one I was buying was a 2 piece kit. They're the OEM parts, but I only got the 2.

There is no way in hell I'm paying $117 for that damn chin spoiler.

As far as the rims go, I'll probably get 18x9 black FR's on the front and 18x10 deep dish on the back. It'll be a while before I get to the rims but I was just looking around and trying to see what I'm goin' to save up for.

I'll see if my uncles can hook me up. They're pretty big into racing. They're the main distributor for slant 6 parts. They've got a few good buddies in high places. They've meet Jack Roush because one of their friends is big in Roush. Maybe they can find someone that can either get me one or that has one for cheap.

If you're looking for nice black inserts, check out CDC. They sell black rubber inserts with a 3M backing that fit perfectly. I had them on my old V6 and they looked amazing. They also have a 3D look to them and shine on an angle.
