the 05+ mustangs have a funny hump in the back of the trunk so i had to have a box custom built to fit flush.
Attachment 8049
Attachment 8050
It's kind of a no frills setup with the plain black carpet box, But it still was installed nicely and looks real clean in the trunk. Plus I can still fit two sets of golf clubs in there, so I didn't lose all my trunk space.
Attachment 8051
The amp is attached to the back of the box. I live in a desert and it can get real hot, so i leave the seats down most of the time to essentially keep the amp in the cabin where it's cooler.

Now for your setup, if you go with one sub you can probably tuck it into the side of the trunk, but if you get Two subs your mounting options will narrow. also with two subs make sure they aren't facing directly at each other, or they will phase each other out and it won't sound as good.

Haha, I was worried about not being able to fit my golf clubs in the trunk too! I have a bottle on one side of the trunk, so I'm thinking maybe one on the opposite side.

Codiddy are you using the stock deck, if so, what did you use as an input for the amp, and do you like the dynamat?

My stang came with the shaker 500, which has a 6 disc mp3 player, so i'm using the stock deck still. i used a high level to low level adaptor out of the back channels to wire the subs in. It leaves the back speakers working and puts the subs on the rear channel. The dynamat is great, i drove around for about a week without it and definately heard the difference after it was installed. Also i'm suprised nobody else has responded to this thread, i know there are some more guys out there with systems!

It looks like they are faced eachother, but offset slighly (like one is up against the rear, one is further up two inches. Not sure if that helps the problem or not...)

Nope they dont really phase eachother. I have many hours in the boxes and im gonna continue to redo them. Those audiobahns are the 1206t so they are a little more quality and they do sound good.
The glass is called mylar and it is the freakin ****. Doesnt vibrate and is easy to cut and countersink.

I have two MTX 10's in my trunk, and I am looking for some way to build a cool-looking brace or some kind of different enclosure that fits in my trunk securely without sliding around.

here's is my temporary sub setup...planing to build another box to hold both of my subs....those wires are no longer there..i have concealed them...the process of wiring is a pain...i did it the way i like it so the power wire is running on one side of the car while the audio wires are running on the opposite sid of the car

I;s sure you have seen the boxes for 99-04 stangs on ebay that look like they fit great and Im looking right now for a system. i wonder if 2 Alpine type R 12" will fit in there and sound ok or do they need more room. Does anyone know anything about that?

I have 2 Type Es in my trunk, but they only need <3 cubic feet. Im sure you can fit the r's in there but you need a larger amp to drive them. I can drive mine with a 150 rms mono block and they give me all the thump I need

My box was made by a southern ontario shop, Im actually going to take it out and build my own, cause its jsut kinda sitting in the trunk, I have to take the spare out to get it out of the car, it came with the car. but its nothing fancy, about 30 inches wide, 15 inches tall and its got an agled back to it, but it has to lay on the back so it fits in the trunk

yeah i really dont want to take up the front part of my trunk so i can fit golf clubs and what not back there. So it going to have to be somethin small that will fit 12's.
