Ditto. I would say closer to 12 than 15. Def go with KB if youre looking for power. Don't go any higher than 8psi IMO on your stock block.

KB dont make the 1.7 anymore. its only the 2.1 and up. just get the KB 2.1 9 psi kit.

exactly y i would go w/ the KB kit and get an Xcal 2....haha

it too late for me to really tell you my opinion but if u were gonna beef up the internals of ur engine...you should have gone w/ a 2.4 (or whatever the new 2.2 is) and pullied it down to 8psi and run the same numbers as a 9 or 10 psi pully on the 2.1

what cams do you have, blower or NA?

If you have cams and LT's on a stock motor and you want to add a blower, that would make some tuners I know nervous. Just my $0.02. I think that may be the issue.

The problem is, with cams and LT's your car is more efficient and make more power at 9 psi then say a car w/o those items. That would normally be good news, unless you are pushing to omuch power.

BUT, one thing that I argue and most people can't seem to follow is that your car is limited to hp to the block and NOT to the tires.

In other words, my car makes 375 rwhp and I don't have cams or LT's. If I were to add both, I might make more like 420 rwhp, but the power applied to my block should not be much higher....I would just be more efficient.

As you approach the 400 hp range, your risk will increase. Perhaps at 380 rwhp you can afford a bad shift, but at 425 is might be bang. I think some tuners get conservative based on their own experience.

When my car was tuned, I told the tuner that I wanted the moto to be good for 80k miles w/o issues, so he went safe. He could have added another 20 hp just with timing and a/f no problem.

Bottom line, there is no straight answer. If you don't care about the block and have plans for a built motor, then maybe you don't care if the stocker blows so you crank it up.

Hello there too. My post count has nothing to do with anything, and that is correct, YOU DON'T KNOW ME, but you've probably read some of my articles. I wasn't getting defensive, I was just trying to find out what kind of people are in this forum before I waste my time contributing any of the knowledge I've accumulated over the last 33 years testing and driving Mustangs. The reason I corrected him comes from dealing with editors who comb over every word I write looking for errors before publication.
A purely innoculous jesture done with no ill intent.
