They are lots of places. Try Houston Performance. They seem to be pretty competitive. Install prices should range from $500 to $750 if you have an intercooler plus dyno tune and chip.

Interesting... I see types for v6s..just not my year..it cuts off at like 2000 ..skips and then goes to 05...

Any particular reason for that?

They should have what you need. Keep in mind that the market is way different for V-6 stuff compared to GT stuff. There are about twice as many 6'ers on the road as GT's BUT I bet for every 10 blowers sold for a GT there is just one sold for a V-6.

I would give them a call and see if they have a kit for your car. Also, try to find a local shop. Lots of time they can get what you need for a competitive price. You know, sell you a package including install and tune. Also, check ebay.

Be careful buying a used blower.

Yea.. a few of my buddies who drive stangs have some induction done and said I might be able to go down to the shop they go to and they might have somethin.. if not they said they've had some work done over at..GAS or w/e (West Coast Customs) one guy had a turbo installed on his old v6 by them.. ect. I'm just going to call around to some places ..

Unfortunately.. there aren't many shops in my town that are willing to work with turbos/blowers/nitrous ..

If I were you, id just buy a used vortech/procharger kit off ebay. Thats where I got mine and I cant be happier. Just get the serial number off of it.

well i assume you have a 2000-2004 v6 from what you say if so the brakets etc.. are the same blower wise so dont worry. any ati kit for a 3.8 99-04 will bolt on.

well the 96-98 one wont fit its made for a differnt front bumper and intake manifold. So the 99-04 ones will be what fits your car. My freinds (teal beast) made 309rwhp witht there 11psi kit and just full exhuast on a hot day.

You can buy any vortech kit for 99-04 v6 cars will work. You may have to buy a different bracket, but there real easy to find.

vortec on those cars makes sad numbers due to no intercooling. The ati is the way to go on the v6 if you ask me or teal beast.

ati is the creator of procharger correct?

And I found a Vortech, a company is trying auction them on ebay for 2500 or so.

But basically..since Vortech isn't intercooled it doesn't have as big a gain?

And I'm on a stock engine so I'd probably go with the stage 1 kit (of either vortech or ati) and get what..6-8psi

If I go any higher I'd probably have to change some internals right?

ATi is ATI procharger systems.

Get the ATI kit with intercooler and 11psi pulley. The 3.8 is a strong motor and will handle a great amount of power. That with full exhaust and DYNO tuned would be a great street car.

lol well Water..you took me away from the direction I was heading ;x

But its a good thing..three people giving me info who know what they're doing..and have had experience with nitrous/chargers ... beats the hell out of some guy at a shop just trying to sell me something..

And after you pointed out that a full nitrous kit being safe ect would be 2k+ .. yea..I figured it woudln't hurt to spend the extra cash..

Full Exhaust will be coming.. It should've been installed over the weekend, but my buddy had some problems with his intake and stalling...

He setup a full CAI and it ran like crap..apparently he needs to do something with his throttle body.. or something.. so he hasn't had time to finish up building his exhaust so I can buy his..

LOL

I have been in professional sales and marketing for 15 years. This does not make me an expert on anything Mustang related, but I have learned to be a good listener and understand people and help them understand their needs.

Nitrous is fun, a great power adder, but it is not for everyone.

One thing that you can do with nitrous that you can't with a super charger, is change the amount of power that you want to make within seconds. This also allows someone to make changes for weather conditions etc.... Nitrous is a great tool for a serious racer for these reasons in some cases. It can also be good for the street, but nothing beats always being able to have the power that you need all the time w/o having to fill a bottle.

I have had nitrous and I have had a supercharger on my car (not at the same time). When you have a professional install with a good tune, it is true freedom knowing that you can mash the pedal and don't have to worry about the motor. Not that nitrous can't be done right either.

Nitrous is more fun if you want to play with adjustments all the time. For that matter, a s/c can be a bit boring making the same amount of power all the time.

Keep your boost reasonable and your tune conservative, and your motor will last for years.

A dyno tune means that the car is placed on a dyno machine after the install to make tuning corrections. These corrections are stored either on a chip or a flash tuner.

Oh...I know.

Hey, where do you live? That would help with the tuner issue.

Try this link:

http://www.sctflash.com/

Type your zip code and see where it takes you. This will find the closest SCT dealer to you. You can then contact them to find a dyno facility.

Also, do the same with Diablo's web site.

100 miles? That's pretty close. Some of us need to travel more then a few hours to find a place. Sometimes just finding a dyno is not enough, you need a tuner that you want to use too.

When I had my blower installed, I used Kauffman Motors...there were about a hr drive. I had a dyno in my own town, but no tuner that knew what he was duing with a Mustang.

I am sure you will find more then one guy on this board that had his car towed across a few states just to find a tuner.

What you need is someone in Ca. who has had a blower installed and tuned try to help you. I am sure you are not the only one in Bakersfield with a blown Mustang. Surely, there has to be someone out there.

Try local Mustang clubs, try sites like this etc...., you will find someone.

You may want to post at www.modulardepot.com. They have a forum too with LOTS of users and many modified mustangs. You will find someone.

I know a guy in town with a Vortech charger on his stang..and another guy who just took his GT down to WCC and is having alot of work done..

The Diablosport tuners in CA around me deal with Fords only.

Diablo or XCal..

And with California being so huge.. I'm sure I won't have to tow my car accross a few states to have it tuned.. If I can't find it within 70 miles of me, I'm sure theres something in Los Angeles..
