me personally with those miles no. a more fresh motor, that shot would be fine with a good tune for it.But i've seen people with lots of miles still using nitrous with no problems but probably living on borrowed time.
The gears, as long as you don't do alot of highway.
also those gears and nitrous, you'll probably be shifting into 5th gear before you cross the line or hitting over 6K in 4th gear, in the 1/4 mile track.

I'd be really worried about bouncing it off the rev-limiter and smoking the motor with a 100 shot. 4.30's are best left to cars that have really high redline's and make peak power pretty far up the RPM band. 4.10's are about as high as I'd go with a power adder, particularly one as brutally powerful hitting as nitrous, not to mention the 5th gear shift.

120K on the clock is probably not the best time to START using nitrous. You should really freshen up the motor before you go whoopin on it that hard.

Above all, make sure you have a rock solid nitrous tune before you stomp on it at the track.

So in otherwords i should rebuild my motor? and if so what do i need? and how much will it cost? or is it better to go ahead and swap engines or....??

You can find tons of PI 4.6's on ebay for good to great prices. Or you can step up to the 5.4 league and with nitrous......your TQ numbers would be soooo insane, it's not even funny. I have 366 TQ to the wheels now, imagine a 75-100 wet shot to it...... Or if you beefed the internals and added a 150 shot to it = insane TQ

Or rebuild yours but i would beef the internals, might as well.

And the Tune is key

If you want to use nitrous and you want to drive home every time, then you need to build your motor not just rebuild it. This means forged pistons and rods, hard bearings, ARP fasteners, and expert assembly. You could buy a short block with all those goodies for 2500 bucks on up (there's no upper limit).

That's not to say that forged lower ends are required but they're sure a lot better than the stock bottom end. You could just as easily find a used low mile motor and swap it in for a redneck freshening but you'll still have cast pistons and pretty lightly built con-rods so the fragility factor would stil be there.

Check out Livernois, CHP, VT, etc.. for engine options. You should also be seriously considering an aluminum intake manifold of some sort to replace the plastic one so when you have a nitrous backfire you don't end up with a 5000 piece puzzle where your intake used to be and a bunch of bent valves.

I remember seeing that some girl had nitrous on her stang, i think it was an 2001, she had it set for 100HP shot, then she stepped up to a 125 shot, with no adjustments to the tune, it looked like someone took a sledg hammer to it one time on the driver side of the intake, it was from it back firing.

I wouldnt get 4.30's for a nitrous car unless it can rev to 7k.

I bump my rev lemiter at 6300 rpm in 4th. in the 1/4. I do not even spray in 1st. and I shift so fast on 4.10s I cant even emagine 430s....I run 12.30s on 125 shot and 4.10s.

that's a smokin time. 4.30's would pretty much require a shift to 5th gear given that experience.

Spray it!! Nitrous is a great power adder and it loves high mileage motors! Nitrous just loves all kinds of motors! Make sure you have a window switch and the plastic intake will be fine! Buy a cheap used motor and start building it....then you can run a 200 shot and have a cobra eater for less than $4K!
