Only requirements for legalization, with no cap.

1) Clean criminal record
2) Must speak english, not broken english, not spanglish, but be able to speak fluent english.
3) Must be willing to pay taxes.
4) Must complete a course on american history.

If they can agree and comply with those 4 items, WELCOME TO AMERICA!

Any immigrant who will not agree to those terms? well, i knnow my grandad shoots trespassers who wander onto his ranch without permission.

Oh yeah, and yeah sure, if a doctor wants to give his time to work at a free clinic and take care of illegal aliens who get hurt, that his his perrogative, however, the meds that the illegals get are paid WITH AMERICAN TAX DOLLARS.
That was fine 100 years ago. We need to be more careful now.

Re read my points on this issue... I agree with the plan to create a registration allowing illegal immigrants to be legalized...thus they will be documented and taxed accordingly...

I'm in class now, but i'll pull up some links to the actual requirements to get into the country, and also i'm not talking about immigrants who want to live here with their family, I'm talking about Immigrants who come here to work and then go back after a certain time.

I understand those are your requirements but the government has a cap on the actual amount of immigrants allowed in the country and with in a day of the release date as far as having your paper work in, all of the i think 40,000 spots are taken. Theres been legislative moves toward increasing this number...this is all in regards to foreign workers...

And as far as your second point on that list, i'm surprised someone like you would have such an ignorant opinion. Not everyone in America speaks fluent english, I don't understand half the things people say with a country accent. And its not easy to speak english its one of the hardest languages to learn other then Mandurin. Japanese people don't give you **** when you go to Japan...in fact of the country's i've been no one had really as a nation given me **** because i don't speak their language fluently...

A man walked into a very high-tech bar. As he sat down on a stool he noticed that the bartender was a robot. The robot clicked to attention and asked, "Sir, what will you have."
The man thought a moment then replied , "A martini please."
The robot clicked a couple of times and mixed the best martini the man had ever had.
The robot then asked, "Sir, what is your IQ."
The man answered "Oh, about 164."
The robot then proceeded to discuss the theory of relativity, interstellar space travel, the latest medical break- through's, etc.
The man was most impressed. He left the bar but thought he would try a different tact. He returned and took a seat. Again the robot clicked and asked what he would have. "A martini please."
Again it was superb. The robot again asked. "What is your IQ sir."
This time the man answered, "Oh, about 100."
The robot started discussing Nascar racing, the latest basketball scores, and what to expect the Dodgers to do this weekend.
The guy had to try it one more time. He left, returned and took a stool.
Again a martini, and the question, "What is your IQ" .
This time the man drawled out, "Uh... about 50".
The robot clicked then leaned close and very slowly asked...
A-r-e......... y-o-u-r......... p-e-o-p-l-e.......... g-o-i-n-g...........t-o........ n-o-m-i-n-a-t-e..........

While I agree with you that Hillary would be big trouble, but the places with the highest mean income and intelliegence tend to be around either large cities or on the coasts. Those places also tend to vote democrat.

Btw watch this video while its still up and it will shed some light on why the rest of the world thinks we are dumb redneck hicks.

Thats a good joke BTW .

Everything is relative on where you live. Down here in south Florida you need to know Spanish or you will not be able to get a good job. When I moved down here I had to learn how to speak spanish very well which wasnt the case in my home state of NJ. Just like everyone who migrated here had an accent or spoke a broken down english their children will assimilate and eventually become Americans that know where they are from but truly call the USA home. I know of latin families who the children barely know any spanish so dont worry Jack all hope is not lost.

and Jack no one is saying immigrants don't need to speak english..., I've talking about Migrant Workers... and Jack, most of the workers who take low paying jobs legally, speak english enough to understand...but i do ask one question...

what will happen when the hispanic minority, becomes the majority...right now we're on track to become the majory by the next century...

I am not sure how you can say that. Iowa is the most literate state in the nation and most cities have terrible edicational systems. The best educational systems are actually in the midwest. MN and WI are near the top of the list.

We are in a quandry in this country. We all bitch about jobs that immagrants are taking....that white folks don't want anyways (sorry to play the race card, but I am just trying to make a point).

If you want to shop at Super Walmart and get cheap produce, we have to let migrants work the fields.

Higher educated, higher wage earning whites are not having kids. The traditional hispanic, agricultural family is. This is where this country was before the industrial revolution.

The hispanics and the Mormons are actually growing like crazy. Both of these groups will be merging in the next few years.

Incidently, most of these workers are conservative Catholics. As they meet success they will no doubt identify more with the Republican party. Most of them have more love for this country then people who are all ready here.

All true, minus the last bit, a majority of hispanics side with the Democrats, Cubans are the only real large group of republicans...

That's exactly right. You'd think they would learn by now what it's going to take to pull the votes. I would personally vote for Hillary or Obama but I don't think they are going to get the votes of the conservative Christians in the midwest because they lean to far left. I'm not trying to sound either racist or sexist here but I feel the democrats need a 50-ish white male candidate who is more in the middle, not too conservative not too liberal. THat's what's going to get the votes from the bible belt. That in my opinion is what this country needs right now.

That's exactly right....we need someone in the middle to lead this country. To far to either side is not a good balance. I've never voted for a republican 10 years of voting, but in this election I will have no problem with voting for a moderate republican if that person is the best choice.....Don't know a lot about Giuliani, but he seems to be the closest one I'd vote for as of right now.....but he can't get the conservative vote cause he's not a hardcore bible thumper.

I don't really like Hillary because it seems like all she does is play to whatever crowd she is talking to and doesn't really have a clear message....Obama is probably the best one out of the bunch, but I'm not sure he has the experience needed, but then again after his president a child could do better.

Time will tell.
