Haha, I know it's a she, But I made her into a he because dogs are usually viewed as male, being part of man's best friend.
The idea isn't for the parent to buy a dog so they don't have to take care of their child, it's aimed more towards working mothers who are usually busy and can't always be around to keep their kid company, a dog provides a form of friendship almost to that of a sibling for a young child. Even more so for single parents who feel like their family is missing something, a void that a pet usually fills in for them to make them feel complete. It's probably not an ad you would see in a men's magazine.

agreed. the pic i posted of the puppy we rescued her about a year ago. the man's dog had puppies and said they were going to to pound if no one wanted them, so the least i could do was take one home
