Need good, quality doggy pictures y'allz
Hey guys, I have a creative assignment for my advertising class, about adopting a dog. I'm probably going to take a serious approach to it, which sucks because I mostly like creating fun/sarcastic types of ads, but sympathy emotion is more prominent when looking at orphaned dogs. Most people are just going to google their dog pictures, but I'd rather either do my own photo work, or get someone I know to do it so it's more important to me, I figured some of you might want to help out. I need a good, high quality, DSLR shot photo of your dog or someone's dog being absolutely god damn adorable or something. lol.
I would do this myself but I don't have a real dog, my mom has a Maltese which is a little whore bitch rat dog and not what I consider a real, cute dog. I'm talking golden retrievers, labs, huskies, etc. Some ideas for photos are the dog sleeping; laying down with eyes fixed on camera (looking towards camera, shot from a level perspective ie..camera no higher than the dog); dog playing with a small kid or girl, cuddling with a child, stuff like that. For all except the playing shots, indoor shooting conditions are preferred, in warm areas (cozy), warm colors and natural light is a plus (light from window). Eyes are crucial, if the dog's eyes are well visible and fixed on the camera it is much more capturing to the audience. If the dog is clean that helps too, and the photo has to present the dog as a companion, 'adorable' and give someone (most likely a girl) the 'awwe' feeling. This is due in a week but I'll probably need the photo no later than Saturday. I can do plenty of photoshop work to get it to my liking, so submit as many photos as you want. Work your magic guys...haha <3 |

This is my dog Malibu.
If you have any ideas of what you might want let me know, i can get you whatever pics you need. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3637/...a3e72d05_b.jpg |
I would post some...but all of my "doggy pictures" turn out blurry because my dogs are neurotic and spastic.
|
Your pup could work well jack, read the 3rd paragraph in my post and play around with some of those ideas, The image on the left you posted is a great perspective, if you can shoot that but with Malibu curled up in her (his?) bed or on the couch or something it would probably be money. Also, do you think you could get it hug logan? (them both laying down, malibu cuddling with logan). Sounds gay but that's pretty emotional. Haha

Well I decided on Bu because jack's photo was exactly what I was looking for, a lot of you also had some great photos, though.
Here's what I came up with, still not 100% on it. But it's due in 11 hours (lol), so I need to do work Attachment 18665 Here's my creative brief to go with it, still have to do production notes Adopt a Dog Creative Brief Problem to be solved? According to the U.S. Humane Society, about 6-8 million dogs and cats are brought into shelters every year, half of which are euthanized due to overpopulation. 39 percent of US households own at least one dog, and 10 percent of all owned dogs are adopted from animal shelters. Although the number is decreasing, millions dogs are still being put down on a yearly basis, many of which could have made good companions for a responsible owner. Who are we talking to? Primary Target: Families with young children Families with one or more young children aren’t always able to play with their kids to keep them occupied, because of work or other reasons. Though they also want to give their children a sense of responsibility and begin showing them how to take care of things; which is where a pet dog fits perfectly. Secondary Target: Single parents with one or more children This group represent those situations which are often more delicate than families with two parents; a single parent is often overwhelmed when caring for a young child, and dealing with a job and other daily responsibilities. Such circumstances can leave the child or children feeling alone and forgotten. What we expect to accomplish To persuade families with young children to have an understanding of the situation with orphaned dogs in the US, and reduce the number by adopting dogs from their local animal shelters. Ideally the audience will see the prospect of adopting a dog as a way to strengthen the relationship of their family, and give their children another form of companionship when they are not always there, if not also to make their children happy. Key Idea All living things need companionship, whether it is a child or an orphaned dog in a shelter. Why should they believe this? Through emotion and understanding, it should be easy for the target audience to see that companionship is an essential part of developing in life; it is well known the dogs make ideal pets for people, and are a good source of companionship for children and adults alike. It is also clear that dogs are emotional just as humans, although they cannot speak, they can suffer, and feel alone. Brand Personality Serious, caring, concerned Executional Considerations The advertisement needs to be warm, inviting and open, with a friendly feeling towards the audience. An emotional approach is ideal to draw feeling for the dogs. Must be appealing to the mother or father of a young child. |
impressive.
