You could probably put an aftermarket one on, the rear of the shaker could still stand to come up a little without causing issues, and the adjustment pins were raised about 1/3inch. So as long as the TB/P isnt more than maybe 3/4 higher than stock it shouldnt be an issue. Note, this is NOT the CDC shaker setup, so i cant speak for that particular arrangement.

Looks great Jack! I want a CF hood too, I'd paint it except for the mach 1 stripe.

caballo 07-24-2007 08:19 AM

Nice. You lucky bastard!!!!

FUGIT! I'm ordering the shaker kit....

venom 07-24-2007 01:30 PM

Thanks for the link, I still have my latch on. I had to cut a pin that prevents upward movement of the hood latch. You can also elongate the holes for better adjustment. You shouldnt have to slam your hood to get it closed. Is the area where the latch is reinfored? I left latch on for security as anyone at this point can open your hood.

2Eighty1 07-26-2007 09:08 AM

Jack,

I'm sending over my application for a place to stay, because by posting these pics you have confirmed that my bank account will now be $1,000 emptier (after paint, and the trunk) - surely I'll be homeless when my wife notices that!

****n badass man. I'm definatly doing that and the trunk with the paint as mentioned.

Jack The Ripper 07-26-2007 10:05 AM

lol.... yeah i was in the doghouse for several days after putting all that stuff on.

i still need to put on te 50% blackout side marker vinyls from autobadges.

and im thinkin of ordering up the mach1 hood stripe, i think it might stretch down far enough to cover that crack.

either that, or buy a hood bra.

im keeping everything mustang related down to a minimum in front of the girl for a little while. lol

I think he is. And that he used to be a boy scout. Because if he has a doghouse with beer and pron then he's "always prepared"...

Sportstruckdirect, the place i ordered my hood from is working with Reflexxions to get a new hood sent to me and pick up the old one!

I HOPE IT WORKS OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!

Would be nice to have a CF hood sans crack.

mcmmotorsports 08-03-2007 03:49 AM

I was going to STRONGLY advise against anything other than a conventional hood pin until I saw their site. No chance of them not locking. A friend of mine lost his hood, windshield and roof due to a poor designed hood pin. Ones like these:

Looks great!!!

Jack The Ripper 08-03-2007 01:48 PM

lol, yeah the lock on these latches works pretty good. You KNOW it is locked.

THe only issue is the flange that bolts onto the hood is simpletly flat, and the place it bolts on is slightly curved.

I have a buddy who can cut me any size of High Density Rubber that i want. So im gonna have him make me some gaskets that are 3/32inch thick (between 1/16 and 1/8th) on the front and back and that thin out to 1/64th inch thick in the middle. that should prevent the latch flange from causing stress on the hood.

madmatt 08-03-2007 02:04 PM

Dude, the pic of the kid sticking outta the scoop is one of the cutest things ive ever seen.

sorry about your hood cracking.

2kids3pets 08-03-2007 02:17 PM

Do you need hood pins...is there no metal reinforcing around the latching area? I thought my hood had no melt reinforcement but a magnet soon told me otherwise...its has metal just like my stock hood
