Default Shaker, and stuff is all on.

Yep. Finally got it all on.

We got my shaker, STB, CF Hood, and Hood Pins all installed. took about 9 hours.

- AIR BOX MODs
So, for the Mach1 Shaker you got to use the stock GT Airbox. However you gotta cut a hole in it.

The shaker setup came with a template to mark out the opening. It was actually a bit small.

Cutting the hole out.

this was actually a lot bigger of a pain in the ass than it looks. The template was about 1/2 small around all sides so i just have to keep resizing and resizing.

.... more...

Finishing the hood install.

First time seeing the hood and the shaker.

The hood and the shaker lined up real easy first try. The hood was straight on the drivers side but a little close to the fender on the pass side. We let the fender out abouy 1/8th of an inch and all the lines smoothed out. We had to adjust the shaker a slight bit and move it about 1/4in to the drivers side.

Default Intake Rigging

Now to tackle the issue of the Intake. After some thought my buddies and i decided to keep the K&N CAI and convert it to work with the stock Airbox. So, as far as i know i am the only person in the planet with a K&N FPIK CAI tube connected to the factory airbox with a shaker setup. Took a little work and some vey light fabrication but we got everything to fit pretty damn nice.
This was kind of a bitch to fit in. But i like the way it turned out

Now the shaker and hood are 100% installed.

After some discussion we decided the STB will probably fit, so lets give it a shot

Removed the wipers and the plastic piece between the hood and window.

Here is the plastic shield between the hood and firewall, the 2 large notches i had to cut out.

Default Now For The Hood Pins

We decided to use the holes that the hood cusions were on.

The latch requires no more than a 5% offset from the latch to the pin, and the mach1 hood has a bit of a dip down the front. So we had to go get these wedge shims and use them to set the hoodpin slightly forward

Once those were on we used fingernail polish on the top of the pins to mark where they hit the hood and got the holes drilled. then we aligned the template up and marked out where to cut.

Cutting the CF

Changed the strategy and outlined the area with painters tape to keep the blade from catching and pulling across the hood.

But you must feel SOME gains! I mean you lost tons of weight with the CF hood and you have better airflow to the intake.....Looks great

Well i went with a pretty open K&N FPIK to the eenclosed airbox with the snorkel and the mach1 airtube.

honestly i feel the STB, but not so much the shaker. it breathes pretty well. as for what i lost on the hood weight i easily gained back between the shaker and stb

major pain in the ass to get lined up right, but they look slick.

hey, do you still use your stock latch?

I took mine offf.

CAUSE IT CRACKED MY ****ING HOOD

lol.

I was planning on removing the stock latch cause i have these hood pins, i figure they would work better anyways and they do.

Well, my buddy tells me "Dude no way keep yer stock latch use the hoodpin latches as a backup" This was against my gut instinct.

Anyways, we have the pins in, the latches in, and are making some final adjustments to get the pins completly lined up. Seeing as how the pins werent 100% lined up there was no way i was gonna drop the hood to shut it, cause if it HIT the pin it could seriously **** up the hood, so i push down and the latch diddnt want to give way. i push again and a thin hairline crack about 6 inches long goes across the hood about 2 1/2 inches from the front of the hood. The CF is fine, but the gelcoat got a crack in it. Looks like a scratch. I was so fuggin pissed. I KNEW i should have removed that ****ing latch instead of trying to use it.

anyways, the crack is minimal, and you can only see it at the right angle in the right light, however, I CAN SEE IT and it PISSES me off.

So i yanked the ****ing stock hood latch out like i should have done in the first place.

Anyways, i thnk im gonna call bobwhite decals or something and see if i can get a piece of black vinyl about 3 inches wide and run it across the front of the hood kind of like a clearbra but black instead.

anyways, right not im only using the hood pins. The cushon on the pin and the way it latches with the new latches is pretty damn secure.
