Default 2000 GT Mods

I have a 2000 GT Convertible. I am about to remove some mods (super chip, cold air and pullys) from the car and add a Procharge Stage II P-1SC from RPM. I am told 10psi and 12psi are both safe for the car. Is that true? Will I need a dino to tune? How much HP can I expect (want 450 to 500)? The only mods that will stay are Bassani Off Road X-Pipe, Bassani Cat Back and Ford Racing Drop Kit (not sure how much the drop is).
I am also need new Wheels and Tires, would like to fill the wheelwells without rub. The main criteria is light, strong, five spoke (no chrome). I like the 3 piece wheels but they are very pricey so I guess it will be single piece forged. Please make suggestions.

Thanks

10 psi is asaferm and you definatley wont want to run anything higher than 400 rwhp on the stock internals....and if you still have the option....dont go with procharger...they have problems.

I'm not sure of any 1 peice forged rims...check out HRE and IForged

oh, and welcome!

Go Kenne Belle 1.7, intercooled, run 10 - 12 psi with a good dyno tune should hit you near your goal...

Is'n KB a roots style blower? From what I have read they don't have a very big bang for the buck. I don't want to change my hood either.

What problems with Procharger? I understood them to be the best for the buck? I also was told to stay under 500hp on stock internalls, many different opinions maybe I should install a stroker kit instead.

Where do I find HRE and IForged wheels?

Kenne Bell carries the twin-screw design, techinically it's not a "roots" style. There is a difference.

The above link will show you the difference. Also, check the page for dyno charts and misc articles on the Kenne Bells. http://www.kennebell.net

If you decide to go the stroker way or if you have the money for a supercharger, then you should consider having a motor built, you can always add the supercharger later and be able to run a higher amounts of boost and not be worried. Depends on your ultimate goal of hp. If you're happy around the 400 - 500 range then just go Kenne Bell, there's plenty of cars making that much with the stock shortblocks.

I believe American Racing and Centerline offer the 1-piece forged wheels.

everything you need to s/c your car, this is a very awesome blower, and is know to be on cars with 800 plus HP

i forget what the problem with prochargers is, they brreak a seal or something, but whatever it is, it happens to 95% of people who own them

Biggest difference between twin-screw and centrifigual is when it makes boost.

Twin-screw makes boost off idle and keeps it across the rpm range. No boost lag.

Centrifiguals build power across the rpm range.

Just do alot of research as to what you really want. Then decide.

You can not make more then about 425 to the rear wheels on stock internals. Some of the best tuners I know of, won't let you go over 400.

Avoid the Procharger. That is my opinion, but there are much better options.

If you are on a budget, then go with a Vortech. You can make 380 rwhp safely non-intercooled and get one brand new for about $3400 (parts only).

If you can swing it and have big plans for the car, then spend $4500 - $5000 on a Novi-2000 with an intercooler. That blower will support 1000 rwhp so it can grow with you as you mod the motor.

If you want a few more oohs and ahhs, then get a KB for a bit for money, but the Novi is a more capable blower.
