I cant really say anything about the Tri Ax but i just got my MGW about a month ago and its awesome. Huge difference over stock. Either way you go there will be a noticable difference but the MGW seems to more preferred than the Tri Ax. Comes wiht great install instructions too.

I agree. it's a preference thing. I have the Steeda Tri-Ax and I love it, people who have sat in my car and felt it are usually pretty impressed by it also. but the mgw is just as good for what people are saying. any aftermarket short throw shifter is a win win situation

I have the Tri-Ax and love it, but also have nothing to compare it to. I do know that regardless of what brand you go with it will be 10x better than stock!

I have the tri ax, but the MGW is by far a nicer unit just on the adjustability of the handle position. Hard core racers seem to prefer the MGW as well.
I love my tri-ax. Shifts are short and positive. The unit feels solid and really smooth. There's a bit of the tri-ax hum but nothing big and I don't hear well enough to care. MGW feels nice to shift. There's also the Pro 5.0 models, which are basically tri-ax clone-ish. Good stuff as well. Installation takes about 5 minutes if you have a cordless screwdriver. a bit longer with a box end wrench. Stoooopid simple to do, really. Don't forget the black RTV. Enjoy. |

I switched from my Tri-ax to MGW
The MGW comes with RTV sealent, but you should get the shifter gasket from MT, it will make your life a whole lot easier

I ordered a shifter gasket back when I did my throttle body and plenum last year. I still dont have an aftermarket shifter but I will be going with MGW whenever I decide to do that.

couldnt be farthur from the truth. dont ever buy a shifter from upr. it feels worse than stock and honestly it felt taller too. i've driven a couple cars with the tri-ax and it was mediocre (a hell of a lot better than upr blue thunder) but the mgw is hands down the best shifter i have ever used. |

I have the Pro 5.0 and I love it. Sometimes its still hard to find gears though. My friend has the Tri-Ax but I liked my Pro 5.0 Better.
Also Pro 5.0 is not a clone of steeda Tri Ax. The shifter is designed totally different. I might switch to an MGW later on just so I can adjust the handle to where I want it.

MT Has the gasket on back order, so ill have to wait for a bit. Did you guys order a Shift Knob With your shifter? If so which one? Im looking at the Composite Race Knob for $60 Bucks.
