Hello all,
Just wondering how much of an increase in hp/tq will I add if I get these mods? 1. 4:10 Gears: I know no hp/tq from this Mod 2. UD Pulleys 3. Headers: Either Long Tube or Regular Headers. 4. X-Pipe or H-Pipe which is better??? 5. SLP Catback Exhaust How much do each of these cost? And can I buy them through Randy?? How much to install?? My Car is a 03 GT 4.6 2V Automatic Trans. :wallbash: |

A full exhaust setup with long tubes will provide the best HP gains. And since you have an auto. You'll be getting mac long tubes, because they're the cheapest that'll fit around the auto tranny, others wont. Most of the stuff you're looking for you can find off of here. But i'd attempt if there is any performance shops around you, to get the parts there. Because they'll price cut parts when you do install also. And install on headers alone is around 500 so be ready to spend that much. My advice on the first thing you can do, SLP cat-back, and you can bolt it on yourself

for a full setup of long tubes (mac), mid pipe and cat-back (slp)
You're probly looking at... probably around $2K. If you're short on money, just get the cat-back for starters. and then gears. That'll be the most noticable differences in power. edit* gears installed.. i paid $400. |

Gears : about 500 all said and done
Exhaust: depending on brands, full exhaust anywhere from 500-1000 Pullies: 180-200 Get steeda, no other Another thing about exhaust, do it ALL the first time. Look around in the classifieds of diff mustang sites for great deals. I got ceramic coated longtubes, and an x pipe for 425 shipped, while they are used, it was only for 3k miles and at a savings of almost 300 bucks. Be patient. H or X is really preference. Listen to some local stangs, find something you like. Congratulations, you are the smartest newbie ever, the cold air intake was NO WHERE to be found in that list. Very smart man. |

Actually, they increase the torque multiplication, but I know what you are saying. You wont notice any gain on a dyno, and in some cases, you'll lose hp on a dyno from a 3.27 to a 4.10 gear. You wont know the difference though, youll swear you gained 50.

Don't fear the gear like some of these tards... gettin a 3.73 with out a blower makes you look like a puss ... and even with a blower the 4.10 is perfect. My car drives better with the 4.10 than it did stock. The gas mileage is about the same, its all on how you drive it. Don't listen to people like greg who talk about what they don't have... 4.10 will make you a happy man and when u add power you'll really love it ... i got my installed for 200 bucks - youll need need races and bearings so add another 100 - only use FFRP to b/c its better safe than sorry and not worth being cheap over 10 or 20 bucks all together it will cost you around 500 bucks - 4.10 won;t hurt your ego like a 3.73 will either... lol - anyway shop around and name your price to these tech guys - don;t get walked on - also i have the mac LT's - they sound awsome but a pain to install - count on spending at least 600 to get them (total) on your car:yawn:

i will have a logical arguement w/ ya for the 1rst time... 410 will hurt MPG unless you baby it to death... agreed you can baby it and make out the same w/ gas... but there is no way that you can say that 410s get just as good mpg at highway speeds... and further... though my car doesnt have 410s i have driven a few w/ 410s and you can certain tell the difference, and you have to shift considerable early... w/ 90% of people i personally know w/ 410s have hurt they're mpg considerably... and 1 last thing... maybe if you came here and didnt "smack talk" in every thread ya post you'd last longer here... just a suggestion |

Hey BraggStang whats up. I think I can really help you out as far as exhaust for I have a 01 GT auto and a full SLP set up.
Try and look around for a performance shop in your area. They might already be dealers with certain companies, such as SLP, if not, try and make them, lol. I have ceramic SLP LT's, catted SLP X-pipe, and SLP loudmouth II. I got this set up for just over 1300 dollars from a shop who was a dealer. If you ordered this same set up on SLP's site it would be $1696.16. So I saved 400 bux! Also the installation of the headers were 600 bux, but was his first time with a 4.6 engine, so took him awhile. For my full exhaust I paid about 2000 dollars!!! A lot of money, but is great quality and I love the sound. With this, my auto dynoed at 240RWHP with a tune, bone stock it was 235RWHP. The car Bone stock should do about 208RWHP through the auto tranny, so I gained about 32RWHP. |
