Ya, i was just wondering if anyone was still pursuing the bracket still. So the supercharger could be mounted on a 5.4....
I was wondering if anyone made a bracket for any of the F-150's to have superchargers... i would think somoene with an f-150 would of tried this... but then thought why... you can just get a lightning motor and drop it in... so stopped my search lol.. |

I've bid on several brackets on ebay but I have my price limits for shit I'm going to send to be chopped up and never see again, much less use.
The f150 bracket mounts the blower really high up and far over on the driver side and would require some interesting piping and a complete re-work to make work. If you all want to chip in I'll be more aggressive with my bidding and find a bracket to send to be worked up. |

btw, as I understand it my car is now at the race builders shop getting bitchin ass longtubes. I would hope that I'm not buying a 5 thousand dollar set of headers and have nobody sign up. We'll have dyno numbers pretty quick... maybe a week or so. Need the deposits though or I'm just going to be a broke-ass-bitchin-exhaust-having-mutha-fukka

Any idea what the mid pipe options are looking like with those headers? Are they gonna have collectors or weld on?

They will have a collector and you'll be able to use any mid-pipe available,

nobody's said we're SOL... yet. In fact... we sorta totally aren't as the car is being actively fitted with them last I knew but, if you want them you gotta jump on it so we can make it happen in a way that you'll all be able to get your set. Otherwise I'm going to eat the whole cost and have the only set.

I was just wondering... wasnt really that interested... was just trying to see what the options were on it incase i decide to put a YSI on my car or something instead of turbos... but i doubt that would happen...
but, if someone was making up a bracket and needed some kind of help that i could offer, that im not aware i could offer i would help ![]() if you can understand what im saying is... i dont have a CNC machine, i dont know CADS, and i dont live in the US currently which sucks... so all i have is possibly ideas... that i havnt really thought through... so im no good lol |

ohh yes.... my update
Heads have been shipped to MMR to get ported and polished, Intake manifold sent to my house, i bought a set of foward facing turbo headers, they are being sent to get JET HOT coated... that is expensive... 250 just for my headers... cant imagine what the rest of my hot side is going to cost to get JET HOT coated ![]() Bought the melling 10227 oil pump... so should be good to go there... also got a MMR oil pan, with 2 fittings welded on for the turbo drains.. a windage tray, for the 5.4 ...and some MISC fittings for the oil pan.. valve covers and all are on there way... all i have left to purchase, is cams, a few misc gaskets, lifters, followers (buying all new ones since ive spent so much money no since in holding out on a few pieces, even though my current set only has like 500 miles on them rather safe then sorry with this build) a few timing components, and a couple other MISC peices... when i say MISC... it means i still have like 800 worth of ARP hardware to buy probably lol... ohh and the UPR front suspension... |

Dressed the stang today with its "All Business" Attire.... We weighed the new setup compared to the old and I was amazed at the difference.... Dropping over 100+ lbs just in wheel weight, talk about a weight reduction
![]() Old setup = 60.6lbs per rear wheel (tire moved scale just a tad before pic - dif .6) ![]() New setup = 32.8lbs per rear wheel ![]() We havent put the front runners on yet - still need a bigger spacer BUT here are a couple of what the rears look like on the car... ![]() ![]() AND 2 quick burnout vids.... excuse shitty sound quality, too much for my camera to handle...:burnout: ![]() ![]()

I hope you have good luck.. let me know, I heard they were made with cheap parts, and were not a good idea. But i was told by turbochargedpower.com Now that i'm looking at it again, it may actually be the better way for me to go. Whats your timeline for that?
Some pics of what I failed to do yesterday... AMP "thought" i had a Cobra and didn't send the new cross member bracket. So I am stuck w/o a car for a week. ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by ibanezsvo; 08-17-2008 at 07:33 AM.. |

it's cool... I've pretty much resigned myself to having the only set of $4K pipes in our little group. I'm sad to say that the count of those that are willing to fork out was lower than I thought and if things don't pick up they'll kill the retail side of the project. Still, my car is over at the builder getting its set so at least it's almost done. The exhaust costs for 2v has also killed my 4v conversion plans. Spent too much on the header project so I'm going to stay 2v now.

still.. tell me where i can find your post... or repost it for me. I'm curious. But arent the exaust ports for the 2V different for the 4V? If the ones you're having made work for the 4V, would they be good like illwill said for remote mount? And what kind of cost?

Common guys... if you guys are serious about having us make some Long-tubes I need to know if your interested in a set. Collin has told me most people are taking a $500 set of headers and paying someone $500+ plus to hack them up so they will fit... we're trying to provide a header which would be a direct fit for this swap... BUT, if people aren't going to be willing to pay for it we're not going to move forward with this project....

what is everyone running for a harmonic balancer? i'm looking at just getting the steeda one..
edit: looking at this one also http://www.rpmoutlet.com/f150asp.htm apparently steeda doesn't make a direct replacement one for 5.4, optimally i would like one that is stock diameter with a 6 rib set up but 6 rib didn't come stock on any 5.4's as far as i can tell so i guess i'm going to have to do 8 rib Last edited by SleepingGT; 08-18-2008 at 09:30 AM.. |
