Default Help with UPR catted X pipe install

I picked up a slightly used cheap UPR catted X pipe for my '02 GT. When I search the forums, I read that there is a small extension (?) and a metal gasket (for the passenger side exhaust manifold) that is supposed to be used to not have any leaks. When it arrived I got the 2 pieces of the X and a small 2" or so extension but I see no metal gasket. Are the threads I read correct that there are supposed to be these 2 additional pieces (extension and gasket) and what is the gasket? Can I pick one up at Advance or a muffler shop and lastly, what he hell is the little 2" extension for (or is that the "gasket"). Ugh, I wanted to finish this over the weekend. :helpsmili

Got the UPR catted X in... It's awesome. I'm running 40 series Flows with it and it's got a great sound.

As an FYI. The gasket needed is the metal one that Ford sells for the passenger side (goes between the manifold and the mid pipe). The 2 inch flanged extension actually sits inside of the drivers side pipe where it bolts to the manifold. No leaks (knock on wood) and sounds great. Now all I have to do is figure out why my SES light is on. I guess I need to shut off the o2 sensors

You shouldnt need to turn off your O2 sensors.........did you tighten them in? you didnt hurt any of the wiring? Oh yeah Felpro makes that same gasket but for half the price ford sells.

The Fel Pro info is good for the next time I'm in there. Ford was only $6 or so. Oddly enough, the hunt for a gasket took me to Liberty Ford where I had the chance to Meet Randy Stinchcomb in person. Great guy and very helpful. Fantastic addition to the forum.
