Cool How's this sound?

Hey guys in the next year or so i'm going to have aroung $4500 - $6500 I want to run 11's but still be streetable with an 02 gt 5-speed.
My plan is:
1. Mongoose Supercharger kit w/Vortech Sq trim
2. Maximum Motorsports road & track kit or street & strip kit which?
3. 3.73 gears
4. Steeda tri-ax
5. Possibly bassani exhaust if I have the $$$
I plan to drive this daily and occaisonally at the track I need a mixture of drag performance and road race performance on my suspension so any suggestions? Will these mods get me to 11's? I will have aroung 370-400 HP is this enough for me to run 11's and waste those stupid ricers? I'm trying to get serious American Muscle.

With that setup you'll still have to lose a couple of seconds.400 HP won't give 11 second performance.Besides, how many 11 sec.ricers are there???

You will need to beef up the axels and rear end or you blow it up. 400 rwhp should get you to high 11's. I run 12.8's with only 242 rwhp.

Depending on your driving skills, that should get you pretty darn close to your goal.

he said 4500 to 6500,that's enough if you did all your own work. Labor would a couple thousand more. I would stay away from the Eatons, I know a guy who blew one up with 280 rwhp in less that 20 passes.

Huh??? :boxing: he will have 360-390rwhp with this setup, there are several people on modulardepot.com and stangnet that are running 12's with 250 rwhp, how is this not enough for 11's?? All it takes is a little traction, a little weight reduction, and a good driver and you will be where you wanna be with this setup.

Id say build it from the ground up. Even if it takes more time, youll spend less time broken and down. Do the rear end build and do the suspension and tranny work. Your going to need a new clutch shortly running 400 rwhp, so go ahead and get that done. Also, if it were me, Id go with a suspension that let me turn still. Going in a straight line is only so much fun for a daily driven car, if you know what I mean. Dont get too hog wild with it where you cant make a turn at any amount of speed. Then keep saving up for the supercharger. Dont forget to factor in a tune so figure about 600 more dollars for that and dyno time. Then Id say at least get a new mid pipe and mufflers that will let some of the air out. That sounds like it will be your biggest bottle neck as you dont have any exhaust work done. Just call Tim and miles per hour and tell him your situation, he'll take care of you. Wish I had the money to supercharge my car. Best of luck man, let us know any more questions you have.

What do you mean build up the rear end? What components? Also i'm sur I can run high 11's with that because motortrend did a test with a vortech supercharged 03 Gt with suspension work and gears and ran aroun 11.8 what ya'll talkin about? What components should i get for the rear for not a whole lot of $$$? If it turns out i don't have a lot of money I will go without the suspension and only get the basic starter kit. Lemme know.

31 spline axels, weld up the torque boxes and axel tubes.
You can run high 11's but not witout good sixty foot times.

I think I read somewhere that a good way to estimate how much you are really going to spend is take what you want, add it all up, and add like 25 to 50 percent of that total to your grand total. For labor, broken parts, and down time, buying a supercharger is a big investment. Buying the base kit is just the tip of the iceburg. Be prepared for anything like a bent rod, new shortblock, broken axles, blown clutch. Thats what keeps me away from it, as I am only 17, I dont have the steady flow of income to support the fact that I would be riding on borrowed time any way I did it. Just some food for thought. Dont be discouraged, just dont get in over your head.

unfortunatly a sc will put more power to your drive train then the stock parts can handle. rear, tranny and engine components. a lot of people will start with suspension components first then add power. there is no sense in putting a lot of power into your car if you cant put it to the ground. just my opinion. good luck.
