mY car smells like gas inside. My check the gas cap light just turned on. It seems to be on fine. The smell is not always there. Just sometimes. Twice now. How can i check what it is?

 

i had a gas problem with mine and idk if it is similar to what you are talking about but i had a bad gas smell. check your grommet that connects the filling tube to the gas tank because the seal broke on mine and the fumes where coming out and i had a small drip of gas.

 

Yea same on mine, it was actually gushing out when I filled up. Seems like it might be a common thing on mustangs cuz I've done a couple on customers cars also.

 

yea it happens once you fill up so check to see if that is it. and i know that this leak threw off my check engine lights but once i fixed the grommet everything is back and fine. hope that might help.

 

Thanks you guys. I checked it and there was a leak there. The engine light turned on and i freaked out. Now i know that is why. Ill get it fix soon.

I had this same issue, but it only happens when I fill up all the way. If I stop 1/2 gallon short of full...no issue.

 

hmm I'll look at that 2. Mines smells that way but I think its cuz I ain't got cats and r turn downs/dumps
