Default To my suprise...

Well started the install of my bbk longtubes and x pipe tonight. My friend is helping me out with these since he has done about 4 sets of them already. We got all the front suspension out, the old mac x pipe and we are basically ready to drop the k member. We figured we would get a jumpstart on tomorrow so we could get done a bit earlier.

On with my suprise. We got the car up on the jackstands and I happened to look at back tires. The inside of the drivers side tire looked like it had tire shine on it. Took a closer look and there was fluid all over the tire, wheel and brake protector. I have a axel seal leak. Luckily I'm still under my factory warranty so Ford will be getting a call on Monday.

Yet another nice suprise.

During the install today we also noticed my passenger side valve cover is leaking oil...

I'm not worried about the axel seal since I don't have any modifications do the rear end...but since we just put headers on I'm a little worried about the valve cover leak. I have proof that we didn't install the headers until today and thats how we came across the problem. Hopefully they won't make a huge deal out of it.

I'm just glad we caught this now before they turned into bigger problems.

In any case we finished and I drove around for a little bit...sounds mean and feels a little stronger.

I had the same valve cover leak, something to do with the casting of the cover that wasn't right. They just replaced the whole valve cover.

You don't tire shine the inside of your tires?
