Default pi intake and cams

I have a 96 mustang gt and I was reading that if I did the Pi intake and cams swap I would save money, and there would be like a 10 hp difference from the Pi swap. Would I need a dyno tune. Is either mod worth it. Im looking to be in the 13s in the 1/4 any ideas.

you mean just the cams and intake... why waste all that money to do basically nothing? If you're going to do it then get yourself a set of ported heads (or hell... even straight PI heads) and do it right. It's common for a full PI swap with heads, cams and intake to land cars deep into the 13's bordering on 12's. That and work on your launch... it's all about the launch.

First off, it is well worth it to do just the PI intake/cam swap if you want, thats where most of your gain in the entire swap is. Yes, if you want even more power do the heads, and look into some miles per hour stage 2.5 heads. There is no way you'll be close to the 12's with just a PI swap fyi.

I've seen enough people make very low 13's on street tires with a PI swap and 3.73's to say yes... there is a way. It's hard to dip into 12's but not to get really close.

ive got the PI manifold and headers and i can tell you that its amde a huge difference on my 98gt...to any and all non pi cars the manifold by itself is worth the swap. my car pulls through all the gears now and doesnt fall on its face after 4k rpms....huge difference
