you will probably want 262's or 270's or vt stage 2 cams

Anything less than .500" lift will not have PTV clearance issues.

+1 on the VT stage 2's.

comp 274 will not work with stock pistons so those are out of the way.

Only ones would be 262 or 270's (if timed correctly they will not hit)
and the vt stage 1's or stage 2's are also great cams.

or, get the XE270H and not the AH. Then you'll have the 500 lift and not the 550 lift. You could just as well use PI cams and get the extra lift without a more aggressive grind. Do you have emissions tests to pass?

getting a cam to have a particular idle is silly. get a cam that will provide the most usable power.

A wild cam will usually provide power too high in the RPM range to actually be useful. I've seen lots of cars with a rough camm'd idle that were slow because they couldn't rev high enough to take advantage of the cam

im not worried about the emissons bacause only thing they check is to see if the computer says if the cats are ok. they dont even crank the engine they just plug their computer in to mine. but there are no xe270h's for non-pi cams they have XE262H, XE268h, and XE274H.

XE262H:
RPM range- 1200-5200, Duration avertised- IN. 262 EX. 270,
Duration @.50"- IN. 224 EX.232, Valve lift @ 1.825- IN. 500 EX. 500
Lobe- 114*
XE268H
RPM range- 1600-5600, Duration avertised- IN. 268 EX. 274,
Duration @.50"- IN. 230 EX. 236, Valve lift @ 1.825- IN. 500 EX. 500
Lobe- 114*
XE274H
RPM range- 2000-6000, Duration avertised- IN. 274 EX. 278,
Duration @.50"- IN. 236 EX.240, Valve lift @ 1.825- IN. 500 EX. 500
Lobe- 114*

What I want in the cam is a more top end power, nice rough idle, and no pvc.

They have whatever you ask them for. Custom grind anyone? But seriously.. I'd go with the 268's. It's a much more streetable cam than the 274's. MMFF did their RSC project on 274's and they even said it was a little much for a street car. The 268 is a nice cam with plenty of duration and it'll idle better.
