Default Cam and blower question

Would it be worth it to put in some cams if I were planning to go with a KB later? Right now I am tied between building up my motor, or just putting on a KB when I get the money for it. But I want to get a list of mods that will all work together well with a KB also.

Get yourself some blower cams. Tim and modularpowerhouse.com is consistently picking up 100 hp with his custom grind blower cams. They cost a little more because he insists on installing and tuning them, but for 100 hp I wouldn't complain.

Thumbs up

YES cams are always worth the effort IMO. Espescially since you're thinking of FI it'll let all that extra air in/out

Blower cams will have less overlap than N/A cams. This is to allow less intake air charge to be blown out the exhaust at certain RPM levels.A set of cams like this will be more effective making power by allowing boost to build up without spinning the blower to higher levels.Any major changes to the flow characteristics of the engine can be optimized by matching cams and exhaust to the port work,or other power adders.Buying blower cams now, without a blower, may lead to dissapointment. With less overlap,or none at all, they could actually make less power untill you back them up with forced air.If you are sure of the blower-cam package you want to install, start gathering the parts, but if not,it might be wise to wait untill you get the Supercharger. You never know, someone might make something better tomorrow.

Ive heard that the VT cams will give you gains, but will give you more when you go to forced induction. I havent heard that they will give you a loss though. Anyone with experience with the VT blowers?
