p.s. TRUE hids use less energy, thats why they are legal, the DOT has a limit on the energy a light can use, not its brightness, thats how HID are super bright and are still road legal.

That group buy is the H-series kit I talked about in my first post. The reason the cost is so high is because you have to have projectors CUSTOM MOUNTED AND ALIGNED in your headlights, or a new set if you dont want to run the originals. If you dont, the riceboy H-series kits you get on ebay just mount in to the orignal 9007 bulb spot and it throws light everywhere. It does nothing but blind oncoming traffic and its still no where near what BMW, Lexus, Audi, MBenz, and the like use both from the drivers position, and the oncoming drivers position. If you are going to do it, do it right or you are just wasting 300-500 dollars on what upgraded bulbs will do for 30 dollars. Only place id run those H-series HID kits is my fog lights. Get the real set, a D2S or D2R OEM capsuls/kit by philips or hella with 4100k output.
Before any of you look into wasting your money on those ebay kits for 9007 HB5, I suggest you do some reading up on HID technology.

Hmm I got a bandwidth exceeded message, than it was down.
Anyways, keep checking it to see when it gets back up. You can learn a lot about true HID technology and retrofitting them into your non-hid equiped vehicle the correct way.

I was looking at one of the 05 vettes today at work and I really like their small projectors for the low beam. I might scoop up a set of headlights from that and use the projector from those. Actually I should just buy the whole kit.

i bought mine off of ebay from some guy in vegas (350 bucks) he had them on his navigator... i think, the most important thing you have to look for is: Philips/ Hella ballasts.. do not get kits with a seperate ignitor unit= cheapy japanese setup.. hella ballast are used in every german car with stock HIDs.. if you have to, get a foglight type kit if it comes with hella ballast, and then buy some bulbs for it.. heres a few pics of my old setup 4k philips bulbs.. i am working on installing some projector headlamps w/ 8k bulbs... i'll post pics later.
check it:
i get my bulbs from these guys: http://www.autodirectsave.com/hid-kits.asp

for some general HID, regular headlight comparison pics.. really good forum, they helped me figure out my wiring problems and setup a custom wire harness for the HIDs... (i tired to run them directly from my main harness, and they would flicker, and some times not turn on at the same time) now, they run right from the battery, controled through a basic relay, added some in line fuses.. start up every single time.. car on or off... you can use the wiring harness from a cheap foglight kit and just modify it..

You will always get flicker from HIDs. Its the color spectrum in action when you hit a bump. Nothing you can do about it because the light is aimed through a projector.
Also there are a couple people on that forum who make wiring harnesses for your bixenon or xenon setup.

well, the projectors are in, got the bulbs, setup the wiring harness and ballasts.... it pretty much looks like the 2nd HID pic.. but the light output is not what i expected.. it looks efffing awesome when you see them on the car.. but what i see from the inside is ****ty quality projectors.. i need to bend the little metal flaps inside, and play with it. but, it just does not look good.. i heard stories about APC projectors.. it looks kinda like it did with my cobra reflector headlamps, with a little dim shadow of an HID light.. damnit, it should be a full out beam of light... no, straitions, no dimness, just pure light with a really nice cutoff... the cutoff is okay.. the output is lacking.. it almost as if the projectors are robbing the hid system of its purity...
* long story short, dont get the APC style projectors.. try these http://www.mustangtuning.com/ge3prhe9.html they didnt have them when i bought my headlamps...
