School. You car isnt going to pay your bills. your car isnt going to advance you in the job market. the car isnt going to give you the smarts and skills you need.

That is by far the dumbest question I have seen on MT since I have been coming here. Cmon man! School comes before anything. You have your whole life to get a car. Your school is your life. Whatever you do now and for years down the road, depends on your career, your life, and what kind of car you will eventually be driving. Use your head man. Nothing ever comes before school. The only thing is if something serious happens in your family and you are forced to be responsible about the situation. I don't understand why some kids are such smart asses to their parents when they depend on their parents for nearly everything when they are in school. They can take it away just as easy as they gave it to you. Live and learn.

No kidding, another resounding SCHOOL COMES FIRST ALWAYS from the young one too. Ask any employer, what the most important thing in an employee, and theyll prolly say something along the lines of dedication, loyalty, perserverence...what the heck do you think a college degree is for. Any job can train you to do whatever they need, but a degree shows commitment. Nothing can help you later in life more than education. Get all you can while you are young, because its a lot harder to come back to it later in life. Plus, with a degree, you can start off with a salary enough to buy that damn H pipe yourself... Study up man, I know its a kick in the ass, Im going through it too. Freshmeat here too.

Having a Mustang in HS and not focusing on priorities = living at home with the parents until your 30 and having a stupid job for the rest of your life while the girl you are trying to impress ends up with the president of the chess club and you waiting on their table at their wedding at the country club. If your lucky will will drive home from work in the same stang which is all crappy by now.

Putting school first (which might mean getting rid of the car) = the sky is the limit! Your parents will end up borrow money off of you and you will get the pick of the litter as far as chicks are concerned. Not to mention, you are shopping for large SUV's as you live in a beautiful home in a great neighborhood. You own a brand-new stang, but it is just a toy that you like to mess around with.

IMO, parents should not put kids in this position.

See, I hate to play the douchebag, but to the guy that got 67 and only gets a catback, count your blessings. If I failed a class, id prolly have lost my car, that was part of the deal. Good grades, and no tickets. Focus on whats important, or itll bite you in the ass.

I finished college with a 3.57 gpa from NWOSU and got a great job with a certain potato chip company which allowed me to purchase my stang. I always focused on school (I have made 1 "c" in my life: sophmore year of college) A month ago I got layed off and now I have a bachelor's degree in Bus. Adm. and I mow lawns for a living.... sh*t happens but you do what you gotta do to pay the bills.

Just throwing this out there...the comp. you worked for wasn't Frito was it? lol... And yea man, school has to come first, but don't over work yourself or beat urself up, not everyone only gets one C in their life...and alot of what college is, to have fun, don't think you gotta be locked away in your room all day and night studying, because honestly, if a certain class is THAT hard for you too keep up with, your probably lookin to major in the wrong feild...over 60% of college students change their major atleast once during their four years.
