you've been trying to jump on a GT or whatever for the longest time. Just do it already. I wouldn't like the fact that the car has issues and the guy doesn't know what. Especially with that low of miles and having issues.

Besides all that noise, what all do the 2000 saleens have on them over a stock GT other than appearance mods?

I think somethings up. I can't see that being a saleen.

The 2000 S-281 had a supercharger and made 365 hp and 400 ft lb

edit never mind it looks like the SC was optional

If someone had a real Saleen with that low mileage they would find out what was really wrong with it so they could fix it and get full value. Something just doesn't seem right.

"Some issues (could be injectors) but otherwise runs great. Driveable, but recommend towing if purchasing from long distance"

Sounds ominous. ie; it could be a money pit.

I thought it was credible cause the saleen quarter windows, most people don't put those on if they put the whole saleen kit on. It's 30 miles away so I'll see what happens. I hope it turns out to be a good buy so I can finally have a V8.

Were not all saying it's not a real Saleen. I noticed the sail panels also and you're right not many non-Saleens end up with them.

If it is real though, I can almost guarantee he took it in to find out what was wrong with it before dumping it for that kind of loss. He probably found out it is something very costly to fix or he has had it in several times and nobody can figure out what is wrong with it so he is tired of it.

See if you can pay a mechanic to go with you to look at it. If the owner has a problem with that then you may want to rethink it. It is a badass car for the money if it is a relatively inexpensive repair.

I think you can have the engine tested too or whatever that stuff is called.

What does 281s mean?

I think you're talking about a compression or leak down test. These will tell you the condition of the pistons, piston rings, valves, and valve seals. Basically, the overall condition of the longblock. It won't tell you anything about the computer, sensors, emission components, or fuel system though.

The fwd offset wheels on it suit you well because they are almost as gay as you. With that said i looked into it that car is actually a s/c real saleen but idk if thats a scam or something is seriously wrong with it. Previous owner registered it here

Google...use it. Common knowledge is most people register saleens, cobras, ext. So while looking for specs I decided to check a registry and magic. Well not really just common sense.

Yea something is up. That is a real SC Saleen as far as I can tell. There is one on ebay right now with 10k more miles than that one and its listed for $17k.

Oh, how is your car coming along?

Nice! I cant wait to see the pics.

Back on topic: selling a car for $7k to $10k less than it's worth because you "think" it just needs a $300 set of injectors doesn't make any sense. With that being said I would still take a look at it if it weren't too far away.

It's most likely a real supercharged saleen, but definitely has some issues for that price and mileage. I like the whole has some issues (maybe injectors), but otherwise runs great. If there was something wrong with the injectors, then that car would definitely not be running great, especially with a supercharger and not getting enough fuel or whatever.

Sweet, thanks for all the help. And those wheels would be sold to a civic that drives around town and I'd put my saleen wheels on it. Me n my dad's goin to look at it, and seeings how it is an S/C engine that makes me even more worried on what could be wrong with it. I appreciate it guys.

With the VIN I found this.

It is a sharp looking ride, but really questionable about the price there... I hope its a diamond in the rough for your sake, but dont get your hopes up high if its not.

Something like this you have to be really careful with, injectors comment and all... I sure hope its a good deal for you.

I would worry about a piston or some other major problem now we know its super charged. He's dumping it or scamming the hell out of somebody!
