Not a Cobra but Close

I guess you don't get many of them in Colorado but I moved out here and was bitten by one awhile back. Before then i really never even thought about a Rattler. It could have killed me... but like I said, it was awhile ago and when it all happened I became overwhelmingly interested in them. I'll have two now from that chapter of my life that I've managed to keep.

I was expecting a Fobra or something
Rattlers aren't really deadly poisonous, despite the myths. There is a risk of death but usually for only the old, young and compromised. However you will get sick as hell and wish you were dead and quite possible lose some digits or limbs. Sort of depends on where you get bit and if it gets injected directly into the blood stream. Sorry nurse rant.

same here man. When i was stationed at wright pat AB in ohio, the heater in my barracks room was either *****-on or nothing. So in winter i would leave it on and put the chainlock on my door and leave it cracked. (the door led to an ourdoor walkway, not an indoor hallway)
woke up one morning, and Fuzzy Wolmak was gone. That was my Ball Python, about 20 inches long. i figured he went out the door cause i couldnt find him.
I left on leave to go home for 2 weeks, i came back and my barracks room stunk bad. I figured it was the trash i forgot to take out. Over the next week the place would just start stinking up, like, bad. I would air it our, and i ended up tearing my whole room apart looking for this damn snake, i even opened my speakers to see if he crawled in the port. Finally i took a hacksaw and cut open a corner on the heater unit in my room, giot a flashlight and in the back i saw snake pattern, and it stunk like death man. it was so nasty.
i got a coat hanger and cut it and bent it up into a long wire with a hook on the end, i snagged Fuzzy and hauled him out, he was so bloated that he was about 3 inches thick, alll in flated. I went out my barrakcs door (i was on the 3rd floor) and tried to fling fuzzy into the garbage, the coathaanger kinda snagged on him and he just totally came apart, pieces of snake got troen up and flung all over the place, got it on me, the railing, and he kinda tumbled head over tail in a rotating fasion and lander smack on the side of the dumpster so his head and top half were hanging out, **** splattered all over the dumpster. i had to go down stairs and use a stick and flop him in the garbage
such an undignified ending.

Rocket is a dochshund too. They're pretty awesome dogs... very sweet, & quite tuff. I wouldn't go with the 2" drop, he'll be slithering around if you do that. lol
