crotch rockets have less suspension travel(less forgiving) they have less slow speed turning capability (less forgiving) and they are more $$ to insure (less forgiving) they use clip-ons instead of handelbars so you are always leaned way over (bad on the wrists/back) They do one thing well...and one thing only...they go like stink. On a racetrack they work really well, that is what they are desgned for...not so much for the street.

goggle a side pic of a suzuki gsxr 600 and compare it to a yamaha fz6...look at the relationship of the handlbars and their position in height relative to the bike/tank. youll see what I mean...the gsxr and bikes like it are for the track...my bike is more of a sport touring style bike...sporty with a crotch rocket engine, but designed more for comfort and usability than a crotch rocket.

I almost never ride in less then Helmet, shoes, jeans, and my jacket. I need gloves I just haven't gotten a set yet. Even if i ride to the store I wear my gear, though sometimes I do not wear the jacket to the store etc... but 90% I am in full gear.

I rock my chrome aviators all the time in the sun. And my helmet came with a clear visor so it sucks in the sun. I ordered a dark one for during the day. Can't wait for that so I dont have to wear glasses anymore.

kinda... comfort bicycle would be like a honda goldwing...my bike would be like a semi-sport bike I guess. Its technically a sport-touring motorcycle. Its on the more sporting end of that spectrum though.

your bike is considered a sport bike. it's just not an "R" version (gsxr, r6, cbr, etc). but it's definatley a sportbike, and many people race them at tracks and love em! They're solid bikes.

you answered your own question man. SPORT touring. so its a sportbike, its just not as aggressive as R sport bikes, so they have to differentiate.

That's kinda like the Harley V-Rod. My dad had a V-rod and loved it. The thing was quick too for a Harley. He had 130rwhp.

Bikes are fun as ****.. but it's really damn unsafe. Most guys I see can't deal with the temptation to do the speed limit, and end up doing 0-100 damn near everywhere. My roommate smoked 2 deer on his R6. He didn't have gloves and his hands are the most fucked up things in the world right now. Every time I see guys riding without gear now, I just cringe thinking about what they would look like in the hospital if they crashed.

Thats why I wear helmet, gloves, riding boots and an armored jacket for EVERY ride. I have armored pants I use on the longer rides.

Its the Yamaha Warrior. Its there muscle bike below the Vmax powerhouse. 1670cc big vtwin makes alot of power and is much faster then my 1100cc custom Vstar. I'm just over Harleys as now that I have ridden my friends bike and then mine I just dont see why people jerk of to HD.

I'm not a big fan of harleys either. if anything Victory is where it's at when it comes to muscle. but that Night Rod is down right gorgeous.

My dad had a Yamaha Midnight Star and road on a Harley. The next day he went to the Harley dealership and bought a new Harley Davidson Road king and sold his Yamaha. He said the suspension on the Harley is just so much nicer rides alot smoother and was alot lighter than his big *** Yamaha.

Both Harleys I have driven were much worse riding then my Yamaha. HD use old school springs on the back, the Yamaha uses a coilover setup. But to each his own I think HD while some are cool are very over priced for what you get.

How is a crotch rocket different than what you have?
It's really not.....I had an FZ6 and I took it to the track and everything and yes the R6's and GSXR's are faster, but not by very much. All I had done to the bike was a Two Brothers exhaust, power commander and steering stabilizer and I could hold with them through the curvies. I HIGHLY recommend getting the Two Brothers exhaust or getting the IXILL(sp?). The Scorpion sounds ok but looks weird on the Fazer. You'll love the bike dude I can promise you that...just watch the pegs if you ever go through the curves because they will hit the ground an it'll swipe your feet off (personal experience ).

Where did you get a steering stabilizer for the FZ? Who makes it?
