are you sure yours is faster?
#13
yep. yours is rated 90 hp and mine is 106.
and spike, yeah they're common, but Im not buying it for the same reasons as a lot of the florida douche bags who buy em to do wheelies and look cool with shorts and a t shirt on. the gixxer 750 is one of the best bikes ever built. it has 1k acceleration, 600 weight and maneuverability. its an amazing performer on the track, but very street friendly. its an all around great bike. and I personally love the look.

Ducati = overpriced POS
And very nice bike man..
+1 On what Badfish said.. GSXR's are great all around bikes... when my insurance rates drop a ltitle it'll be either the 750 or the R6..
(But wheelies are still fun)

here's the deal with ducati. my bike mechanic (whom is a friend of mine) works on and has raced ducatis agrees with this.
Ducati is the Ferrari equivalent of motorcycles. Ducatis are price so high because of the high quality parts, engineering, DESIGN, expensive plastics, and unique style of engine. Ducatis are over priced for the performance. Period. When you buy a Ducati, you do not simply buy for numbers or track performance which is pretty much equivalent to its Japanese counter parts. You buy for the flawless lines, the GORGEOUS sound, the design that's art gallery worthy. The riding style is even different because of the engine. Ducatis are very touchy and problem ridden. They are always having problems, but to many who own one; it's worth the inconvenience, because there is NO OTHER bike like a Ducati.
For me, it's between an 07 GSX-R 750 or a buddy of mine is selling his '03 Ducati 749. I'm leaning toward the gixxer...I don't want to deal with the issues of owning a Ducati. And I have ridden one.

God the busa another bike I could without seeing 15 every day. And like you said badfish we have so many squids who go out and get GSXR and Busa and liter bikes and wear Tshirt shorts and flip flops and go ride. I want to kill them all.

LOL true.. but its getting that way with a lot of crotch rockets... the Busa on the track though is VERY impressive.

98 rwhp...and I bet mines lighter...471 WET...oh and the fuel injection helps throttle response and such. who cares...i dont need to go fast to have fun on this thing.
BTW...carbs suck! haha.

and ziggy..mine is 443 WET carbs ftmfw!
but i agree. they're just fun ride period. welcome to the addiction. ill give you a year before you want more.

Ive not even had my Vstar for 1 year and I want more lol. I want to get a R6 for when I feel like going quicker or tearing up some corners (like we have many here in Fl). But thats a long ways away from happening. And I like carbs its easy to tune and I dont have to spend hundreds to fix my a/f ratio when I swap pipes or do intake mods.

Just about everyone i know with a crotch rocket has laid it down and fucked themselves up pretty good.
I had a friend chris who had a gxr, orwhatever its called, anyways he was riding about 50 without a helmet, hit a pathc of gravel around a corner and went off the road, the bike was destroyed, apparently he rolled a hundred feet or so Sonic-The-hedgehod style and wound up in the hospital, mostly scraps and bruises and a sprained ankle. His riding days were over though, he was damn lucky because he was rolling through trees and somehow managdd to dodge them all. This was the guy who was my roommate and kept stealing my mustang while i was at work. He lost his job cause his BAC was over the limit when they got him to the hospital, so he couldnt drive to work.
My uncle Jeff lost his leg from the knee down when a truck ran the intersection and hit him, that was a chopper though not a suicycle
I just found out last weekend that a guy i knew Joey was killed on his crotch rocket about 6 months ago. I was wondering why i haddnt seen him around. he was maybe 23-24 years old.
About 5 months ago there was a motorcycle fatality right outside my neighborhood at the major cross streets, a guy on a bike was hauling assw, a truck ran the light and he tried to stop, ended up laying it down and it rotated around and he got smashed between the bike and the car. he wife and i drove through that intersection and i remember looking at the median on the southern side while in the turn lane and seeing blood chunks on the median with ants all over it. (the wife and i were hoping it was the guy in the first post, chris)
One of my co workers, Bob(big burly biker dude), has lain down 3 bikes, broken his back twice, his neck once, and has a massive chunk of his calf missing cause it got chewed up into the axle of a semi that ran his *** over. Im convinced that this dude is invincible.
***** more dangerous than street racing if you ask me. People dont always see the bikes and the safety gear is a joke.
You guys have fun on your ******* death traps out there, but dont kill yourselves because i enjoy seeing all of you on here.

I was cruisin at about 50 miles per hour on the gixxer, I stood up on the pegs to go over a bump/hill thing. When I cleared the hill, and the bike bottomed out, I was still standing on the pegs, and the fuggin left foot peg snapped. It was crazy, my foot slammed into the ground. Hurt like hell. The bike started swerving, I had to muscle it to take control of it. I had to ride home holding my foot up. This was the first time in 6 months I chose to ride without a helmet on, because I was "just cruising to the corner store". Never again. Ever. That was ******* stupid. I would have died, easily.
The risk is incredible, but the enjoyment outweighs it. I'm a huge advocate of motorcycle safety, but like you say there is a point where it's completely out of your control.
