Default My friend's picking up a GT tomorrow...

2003 Black, light gray leather interior, 77k miles, 5 spd. Has a K&N FIPK and flowmaster catback on it.

Talk about being 1-upped eh? Actually it's more like 4-upped... newer, leather interior, V8 and a manual..definitely 4-upped.
This is the guy that has that GSR swapped civic, which he is trying to sell.

now you need to do the 5.4l, T-56 tranny and 8.8 rear end swap.

Haha, it'd probably be easier to buy a new car than swap a 5.4l into a 3.8 body.

True. But if you get a GT just because your buddy got a GT, then you're just a lemming.

Yeah..I don't want a GT, but I do want a better car. It was just so much nicer being a newer car. It's tough....If I manage to find a decent job (which I haven't yet) and pull in enough $ from detailing from now-summer, I may seriously consider selling my car and taking out a loan for a 4V Mustang. Insurance is the only thing that would be terrible. And by terrible I mean over $3k a year

Dear God, boy! What on earth would bring it up high? I thought I was getting the wrong end of the stick when I was told $160/mo, but $3k/year is pretty insane.

Well currently it is $2700 a year for the 6.... 18 y/o no tickets, clean record, no wrecks. On family policy. Full coverage I think. Our insurance company is really terrible but my dad refuses to do anything about it.

Ouch. I'm 18, one ticket (two years old/reduced to failure to signal), family plan, full coverage, 4v Mach 1 at $160/mo. You're making me really appreciate State Farm.

Yep..well I know for certain as soon as my friend drives the GT normally for 1 tank of gas and I see how it gets equivalent or most likely better gas mileage than my 6 I'm definitely doing something about it.

You made it into the big leagues Spike. I believe after 21 you start catching some insurance breaks depending on your record.

And PCola, Stephen is paying nearly 3k a year at $240 a month. So he's not catching much more of a break than you.

When you hit 25 you start to see some breaks, but not till then and thats if you have no incidents

Yeah..but he's the same age and it's still less than what my cost is with a V8.

I decided I'm going to stop modding the v6 and work to replace it with a mach 1 by this time next year...there are many selling for <$16k now so when the new mustang comes out they may go down to around 14-15k.

I almost bought a 2004 white GT 40th anniversary last summer had the same low mileage as my current 6er at the time. After trade in of my 6er i would have only had to pay 4k

Thats because they cant afford to keep pumping the premium gas in the dayumn things! Hell I would love one too, but damn that gas price per gal is scary these days, even for one that takes regular gas!

Full coverage here, State Farm, one ticket that should be up soon, 2000 GT, and I'm 26 = $85 a month.

Is the title of the car in your name? If it is just tell your Dad your going on your own policy and go get yourself a quote
