Alright i was on my way home from a party the other night. It was late and i was kinda tired. So i wasn't really up for anything. Well all of a sudden i hear this retarded sound comming up on the driver side. U guessed it...a ricer. He was driving a busted eclipse (93' i think) but i could hear the blowoff valve from his turbo. I payed him no attention and just kept driving like i didn't know he was there. (kinda hard when his fart can keeps farting at me). Anyways after about 5 min of him just riding along side of me i rev and then he takes off. I make a u turn and then make a left at the light we just passed cause i didn't really feel like racing. About 10 min. later....what do i hear again. You got it. .....it was him. He obviously had nothing to do. So we get to a light and he doesn't say anything just reved his engine. OK I dropped the clutch at 2500 and spun a little, hooked, and took off. But he didn't get on his. so i cruise and he speeds up and comes along side of me again. At the next light he says "Let's go from second at 35mph!!" So i yelled back "F**k that race like a man" He gave some retarded excuse about his clutch...prob cause i'd take him off the line easy. Well i end up falling for the 35mph thing..and i get a jump on him but then he takes off. I shifted way after he did and missed third (all my fault) but either way..shouldn't i have taken him in second? It was turbo charged but still it a freakin 93 eclipse. I'm confused!!! I need answers.

Oh i have a 03 GT with: K&N filter, SLP catback, MAC o/r x, and Steeda Tri-ax on street tires. I know those arn't the biggest mods in the world...but damn i'd like to at least smoke a old busted eclipse.
And i don't race on the street all the time. This was just a once every blue moon kinda race. I'm normally crusin real slow. I just want to know what the hell i did wrong.

Now, you have learned a lesson about the 1st gen turbo eclipses, they have a great engine, the 4G63. They can be made VERY quick for VERY little money, and you probably got taken by a very fast sleeper. Dont feel bad, as your car is prolly a high 13 sec car still. Be cautioned when you pull up next to one of these eclipses again, esp. one that you can hear the bov, because there is no telling whether its a 13 sec car, or even a high 11 sec car. They all look the same, and they are very easy to make fast. Oh, and street racing is bad, so keep it at the track. That said, be careful, Im not going to tell you how to drive, but try and keep it below triple digits on a public road.

I don't like street racing, but I fuggin hate ricers. I only raced twice on the streets 'cause I was taught how to handle cars at high speeds by my girl's dad. Who is a Master Sarg in the Air Force. I also raced a Eclipse...it was an '03 GTS. But I whooped its ass. You should of told him you would ram your car up his ass at thrity five, but we will race from a dead stop. I fuggin hate ricers. Oh yeah, race at the track.
