OK... I hope theres a lawyer in here... :/

OK... I never used facebook... never wanted to... never should have... but my ****in buddy had the great idea to bug me til i finally did it...

SO... we make one up... and theres a pic of me in front of my rebel flag... and we make this "group"

The group was a joke between us... I don't understand exactly how all this yatta bull crap works... but apparantly everyone saw it and got angry at us...

group --- (note it was a ****in joke)---(and we were drunk)-----> NJIT confederate white rebels...

ok... stupid idea... i go to school where I am a minority...

now unrelated stuff

1. kid JON, he was joking around with a friend from home... and he left a message on hos friends wall saying better wear hanks vest cause Ill be strapping
2. kid carmine had a pic of a kid pointing a shot gun at him as his profile pic
3. I had mentioned in my profile that I like to blow stuff up and shoot stuff

now our group had 11 people in it...

some kids at school were offended by the group... my friend dave (who is black) told me to take it down... so we did... gone... we don't want any problems and I dont wanna piss off my friends...

so few hours later... Me and 2 friends are confronted by a detective...

He asks me about everything... I said we were only joking... and we took it down... then he takes my 2 friends to the station to talk with them (which raises a red flag in my head)

1.5hrs later they get back...
soon after the swat team goes lookin for carmine

well heres what they think...

That our group came together to "conspire"

They think that we are planning a school terror attack...

they think i am a ****in mastermind osama bin laden wacko...

they asked my friends if I have pipe bombs laying around my house (which pisses me off, i have a ****in good family... I aint a scum bag)

Now get this... the next morning there is a ****in bomb scare... there was a suspicious "package left in a building. It made the paper that the A/C guy left it there... it was an electrical box...

and today they try scaring everyone into not talkin to anyone... they say that they want to prosecute us for "slander against the NJIT name"

1. we didnt make any threats
2. we were jokin which is acceptable jokin where we are from

Is it legal for them to say who we can and cannot talk to?

Can we get in trouble for slander???? (wtf happened to freedom of speech :wtf:)

I am freakin out as are all my friends...

i cant figure what to do... I am afraid to go to school tomarrow...

any suggestions... I want to cooperate with the detective cause we really didnt do anything wrong and we have nothing to hide...

and i cant afford a lawyer...
and Im afraid that they might kick us out...

I honestly don't think they would have done anything if it hadn't been for all the recent school shootings. Slander is a big deal but I always thought it was against a company. Like if you used slander to hurt their business or reputation. I am sure everything will come out fine in the end man. They are probably just trying to find something to throw at you since you had a valid excuse for what you did and nothing bad happened and I am sure they knew that. They just want to make damn sure I am sure. Goodluck though. That does suck.

well... freedom of speech is there as long as you play by the rules. If anything was damaging to the schools reputation they could probably procecute you for slander.

as for consipiring to shoot anything up, they really wont have much to go on as far as that is concerned. They will probably harass you, but if there aint nothing there then they dont have anything to find.

Here is the problem though, while there isnt any single horrific thing other than a series of tastless jokes, they very well could come at it at this angle.

Even though this is not a real organization, let alone a hate group, they very well may try to put that spin on it, better be prepared. Yer right there is nothing illegal about being associated with hate groups. however society in general seems to frown upon such things and they dont help your position.

Simply calling the group NJIT Confederate White Rebels associates it with NJIT regardless to where it is posted, NJIT is a licenced trademark and they could easily sue for damaged reputation (regardless if there were any damages, they can claim that the reputation is tarnished etc etc)

Yer right about the pic of yer buddy, there is nothing illegal about taking a pic of yerself with a gun. it is his right to own the gun. However, if they can "prove" or at least convince the courts or detectives that the pic was intentionally taken to impose a threat they can go after him for that as well.

The problem with this stuff is the entire burdon of proof will be on your heads, not the lawss. We all know innocent untill proven guilty, but we also know that isnt always the case.

DEFINATLY go to school tomorrow. If questioned be honest and say it was a dumb joke, that yer embarassed about the entire thing, etc etc.

I would be careful with the recorder. I am pretty sure by law you have to tell them they are being recorded. If you don't tell someone they can bust your ass on that. Walk in and put it on the desk and say you are going to record this conversation. Make sure you have that part recorded also.

As far as bringing the FBI in to it I have no doubt. My school's postprom party last year was threatened with a bomb. Apparently the letter was so compelling and personal and specific that the prom was postponed aand everything... eventually after having two of my close friend's houses searched they didnt find anything, and rescheduled the prom. I have a shirt that says "No-Bomb-Prom" lol... they had bomb sniffing dogs search every nook in the school andthe local ethan allen... (where the prom was to be held) and turned up nothing, and had one at the post prom party just standing in the dark, lookign at us as we walked in.
But yeah, I freaked the hell out for my friends because one had sent a bomb threat years back to his middle school... kid has a messed up life and had dropped out senior year... I am relieved everytime I hear he is still alive.

Ever since 9/11 lawn enforcement doesn't play around even if you think it's a joke.

The detectives can't do shit. Someone called the cops to be a fahg and the cops flipped off the deep end like modern suburban cops do.(They think a little much of their place in the world now that they think they're useful responders to any terrorist event. They're totally fooling themselves.) If you don't do anything patently illegal you can't be charged and excessive police interviews can be classed as harassment. Charges under the patriot act would require them to turn up weapons and ammo and some sort of situationally coordinated evidence like a bullet proof vest all stuffed in a duffel bag to show intent. If you can't show intent then you're not a terrorist.

You've done exactly 0 that's illegal. You may be diciplined at school but I HIGHLY doubt it will be anything but a minor black mark.

cops these days think they're going to have some effect on the outcome of any particular terrorist act. I say scoff, humbug, haha, yougoddabefugginkiddinme. Fact of the matter is that real terrorists are determined, well trained, WELL equipped and have nothing to lose. You come across a group of 4 guys that knows what they're doing and don't have a plan to deal with failing their mission and you've met men so dangerous that most cops will be lined up and murdered like sheep just as soon as they enter the crosshairs. There is very little in life that prepares you to do the typical urban-cop style home entry (watch COPS if you don't know what that looks like... they all do it the same way) and meet a 2 man m60 team behind a meter high wall of sandbags. The only thing the casual observer will see is a whole bunch of dead cops hitting the ground and then 3 blast fragmentation grenades flop out the front door to catch the stragglers.

Urban US police need to step back and realize they're little fish in a big pond and that they're 100% unequipped to deal with any terrorist they might meet. They need to nice up a bit and let people realize that we live in a dangerous world where danger is the same as freedom.

My friends father was the head of the SCAT force here in denver for years. He diddnt care about pot, or speeding, or any of that. The SCAT team dealt with kids who carry fully loaded Mac-10's and wouldnt think twice about unloading that into a cop. There are special police force teams like them in every major city.

Maybe yer average black and blue isnt really up to the task, but i think it is somewhat rediculous to go after the entire police force calling them inadequite or incapable of handling ANY terrorist threat.

At least they are willing to put thier lifes on the line and die in order to keep your sorry ass safe...
