Default SLP Exhaust Question.....

I have an LM-1 and Catted x-pipe from SLP. The exhaust is awesome but insanely loud especially with the blower.

I just bought a house as we are moving and the neighborhood is a bit more upscale. I am thinking about taking the edge off the exhaust a bit.

Does anyone have any personal experience with the LM-1 vs the LM-2??? I need to know how much quieter the LM-2 is. I may consider a trade with someone. I just want to take the edge off the exhaust or perhaps even go to SLP's muffler style system.

try the SLP muffler's, I bet they would sound killer, and it seems like everyone always forgets they make a muffler style

Same as on my 05 GT too.

I love the sound of them.

get the slp LM2 mufflers/resonators. they are much better then the LM1's. I went from LM1->slp powerflos (mufflers) ---> LM2 and very happy with my decision.

Magnapacks are not quite at all. I'd say chambered of some sort.

Here is something you can use Blake.

Patrick: That’s just fancy talk. If you want to be fancy, hold your pinky up like this. (shows the proper way to hold up your pinky) The higher you hold it, the fancier you are.
Spongebob: (holds pinky up) How’s that?
Patrick: Higher!
Spongebob: (holds pinky higher) Like that?
Patrick: Now that’s fancy! They should call you Spongebob Fancypants!
(at Sandy's treedome)
Patrick: Remember, when in doubt, pinky out.

I would call SLP and ask if they have a decibel rating for the LM1, LM2 and SLP Powerflows. That might give you a good start.

I sent Magnaflow and E-mail asking the difference between the regular catback vs magnapacks and they provided me with this info:

"The difference between the standard and the magna pack is that the standard uses larger 4x9x14 mufflers while the magnapack uses smaller 4x4x14 mufflers. The magnapack system is about twice as loud as the standard system.

Both systems deliver maximum horse power. There is a very slight performance gain by using the magnapack over the standard, however it is slight. On our dyno performance gains were:

15671 hp gain 13.1 torque 18.3
15673 hp gain 18 torque 20.2

At 3000 rpm the 15671 pushes 92 db
While the 15673 is rated at 105 db"

I posted this because maybe SLP can provide you with the same info.
