RIP. Shelby GT500
Lol....
I have nothing to cinfirm this other than what the girl i was dating (untill a couple hours ago) had told me.
She said she was riding with a friend a couple days ago, she saw a new mustang and she said she thought of me. Then as they got closer to it she say "SHELBY" written across the back of the mustang with the Cobra's on the sides. Yellow with black rally stripes! Temp tags and all. (goes wihtout sating i would say)
They passed the car and went through an intersection, she was looking back at the car fumbling with her phone to get a pic for me, WHAM. Broadsided by a truck going from what she says about 40mph, the driver refused to go back cause there were plenty of people that could help and he had to be somewhere.
I really wish she would have gotten a pic, so this thread is kinda usless i guess. just wanted to pass this on.
BTW, If she said it was a shelby i believe her. People in denver have a lot of money, and she is a huge mustang enthusiast. And i know several of the dealers here have one or two in stock.
Hope they bought the GAP insurance. lol....

There's no way it was a new GT500. The first deleveries of those don't come until Fall of this year. Definitely a S197 with Shelby badging.

Dealerships arent taking delivery of them yet. If they had one, they have to have serious bucks or are some sort of top managment with a giant ford dealer or area representative.

No doubt it sucked for the guy that got hit. I really do hope he's ok. But at least it wasn't something rare like a Shelby.

Naa, i know of 2 dealers in the denver area who have them. Dunno if they sell em yet or not. People always seem to doubt that there are tons of nice cars in denver for some reason. I know of 2 bentlys now that live somewhere in my area. lol
if they arent selling them, then either A, it was a dealer GT500 being put out on a test drive or on its way to an event, or B, badging. This girl dosent know as much bout stangs as u me or a lot of others, but she can pick out the year and engine on just about any at first glance.
could be a clone... dammit i wish she had gotten a pic.
could be a clone. i oughtta check the dealers that have a GT500 this weekend, see if they are missing it. lol....

It might not have been the ACTUAL GT500 that is coming out, but when there was the Pensacola Mustang show that Grimmz came to, there was a company that had their car with them that builds GT500s. You basically go buy a new GT and give it to them and they make it into one. Not just badging, but the whole 9 yards, new interior, body kit, stripes, wheels, motor, everything. Grimmz got a brochure from them for his dad so I am not sure of the cost. But there is a company that builds them with the Shelby badging...and it is a bad ass machine.

I guess that is definatly a good possibility.
Honestly, the last thing i wanna hear is of a new shelby gt500 getting creamed. Unless it was being sent to another dealer location for some event or something like that, it probably was a clone. Besides, you'd think if they were gonna take a dealer ownerd GT500 out to another location they would totally flatbed it to prevent anyone from rear-ending it.
On another note, im trying to find this info, i could swear that there were several Shelby GT500's made with the origional production prototype and some of them were auctioned off (not berret jackson) or something for a buttload of money.
anyone hear of that??
and holy crap, there is an oldschool mach1 ive been seeing lately, i see him at the car wash from time to time, i gotta get pics of this thing, its the meanest bitch ive ever seen. drioooooolll.... even comes with wheelie bars... lol.... and a big ol intake like u see on the funny cars.

I used to work at O'Meara and we were told that the Shelbys were having a problem holding the main bearings in it. We were also told that the production numbers are going to be around 9,000 for the 07 and closer to 11,000 for the 08. They said that the cars should be arriving around September and they were charging a HUGE markup on them.
We actually had a couple of Eleanor remakes from a company called Legendary Motorsports that were just plain mean looking.

They also have the GT350 (sc v-6) made by Shelby. Shelby makes several others as well, from turnkey to just you purchasing what you want. Shelbyautos.com This is one of many...

It couldn't have been authentic since Job 1 has not been reached on GT500s. A preproduction mule maybe, but not a serial # car.

job 1 huh? english? im not an auto prouction guy. dunno what ya mean.
as far as no GT500's being out yet, maybe not on sale, but there are some dealers with one in the showroom. sometimes they DO move these things to car shows and other events etc.... normally that involves some degree of driving. the area she saw it get creamed was off broadway, lotta dealerships around there. who knows.
