Default new hood for 99-04

just wanted to hear some other opinions on this hood. it resembles a stock hood with a larger scoop and heat extractors towards the back of the hood. it costs $429.00

im curious to see what this hood looks like painted and mounted on a mustang...

Those extractors just look to "Rice" in my opinion. Not a bad looking hood otherwise. I saw it when I was hood shopping.

huh? who's getting that hood? i was just asking everybody's opinions on it. everyone seems to hate it because of the heat extractors... just wait until you all see venom's hood it has the same kinda thing going on towards the back of the hood but i bet everyone is gonna say "awesome hood venom!"

i didnt really think this hood was that bad looking and the scoop and heat extractors are functional. i'd never pay $429 for it but i wouldnt call it rice. like i said in the first post, i'd love to see this hood on a stang so i can really see what its gonna look like.

I actually dont like Venoms hood. I saw it a LONG time ago in MM&FF on a green griggs prepared car, and thought it was hideous.

It just looks too radical for your car.

If the hood is not functional then I would not get it or even consider it. The Hood I have is functional and where the MMFF hood had the vents I am not going to use it because it stands out too much. The pics below shows how its going to look. I will be adding mesh inside the hole to keep animals away. Its hard to tell how anything will look without seeing it on a car. My hood is exactly as a Saleen plus a bigger rise and vents on the rear. Here is an old pic of test fit that I did while my stock hood still on.

i think that hood is gonna look really nice on your car...

are you going to smooth the edges around where the vents are in the back?

Thats my plan,to have shop fill in the edges and leave the hole open but add mesh underneath where it cannot be seen. What do you think Floppy or should I just add the mesh only.

i'd say definitely fill in the edges. in that pic it looks like its missing something so if you fix the edges i think it would look good.
