if it all works out....

well, long story short, if sumtin happens and my mom keeps her word...

i SHOULD be getting 6K dollars...roughly...lol :D

i was thinking of getting a S/C for my car(only other mod ill have currently, is my exhaust im getting soon SLP1), problem is, idk which to get and how much installation will cost?

how much is a good kit WITH installation, UNDER 6K total? ((also, is 68K miles TOO much to be running a S/C?))

White04GT 02-16-2006 07:22 PM

Yes, If it had 50k miles or less then I'd put a blower on the car..You should think about getting a built motor or trying to find an 03-04 cobra motor..I think you would need a diff hood tho not sure.

CCM 02-16-2006 07:24 PM

68k isn't too many miles. I'd say save up your own money too and get a mongoose kit from MPH.

White04GT 02-16-2006 07:27 PM

I mean its your money man..I personally wouldn't put a blower on a car with 68k miles..but thats just me.

your retarded.

just get a blower install it yourself its not hard at all. then get some rims springs exhaust what ever. by the time you hit a 100k on the block you should have enough funds to put a built block in.

Icefreezen 02-16-2006 08:09 PM

Yeah dude I have 80,000 miles and running a 100 shot. By the time I hit 100,000 miles i'll have the engine and tranny either rebuilt to handle a larger shot. Same principle as long as your engine is kept in goos shape doing regular maintenence theres isnt much of a problem.

m0nkeh 02-16-2006 08:18 PM

lol, HOW much is it for a new engine ? how much HP does a 03-04 cobra engine hold and the price for maybe a used one with 20K miles on it? jw....

and IF i get the S/C, is there anything else id have to buy for the S/C?

Icefreezen 02-16-2006 08:25 PM

First off.......03-04 motor is badass its supercharged already and the internals are forged.....uh yeah enough said there.......now the install would be a pain let alone finding a donor car.... Don't even ask how much for a new 03-04 motor better off getting a forged GT engine and calling it a day

Next off if you got a S/C just get the damn kit and be done with it...everyone is saying the MPH Mongoose kit because you dont need anything else cuz its in the kit.

m0nkeh 02-16-2006 08:31 PM

alright, shoud i just not get a s/c and do everything else to my car? lol

wut about the Kenne Bell kit thats like 4.5K, is that a good kit?

whitethunder46 02-16-2006 08:32 PM

Maybe call me dumb, but just spend the money on everything else...... I have about 5K to spend this year too. I'm doing an all out suspension, finishing my bolt ons, upgrade the tranny with a new convertor, valvetrain, and maybe clutches and then a few more looks...... I'm keeping my car until out of college, by then I'll have 100K+ miles on it and then I'll drop in a new shortblock. THEN supercharger, safest and smartest way to go IMO. Also the car would be all built and ready for the awesome power of a blower, the block will be able to handle it, the suspension would be beefed, and the tranny could handle it.

your dumb...hahahahahaha jk dude. That was too easy. :) Personally i'd rock a Kenne Bell and put it in myself. That's just me though. Cause not only will you be fast and have fun with it.....well.....i guess thats it. :)

m0nkeh 02-16-2006 08:45 PM

lol, dumb question, but how much RWHP would my car have being bone stock and having a S/C?

whitethunder46 02-16-2006 08:50 PM

With you being an auto, being safe and ONLY at 8psi, 365RWHP. The tranny really holds you back here. Same car but manual might hit 390RWHP. Also, the stock air flow would blow balls.

Icefreezen 02-16-2006 09:05 PM

Look into a torque converter while your at it.........the tranny is going to take away quite a bit

whitethunder46 02-16-2006 09:09 PM

Stupid question, the torque convertor is a great mod to do, but can it make the auto more efficient? Meaning will it show a little more HP gain on a dyno???

m0nkeh 02-16-2006 09:12 PM

so basically, with buying a S/C, need more cash to buy other parts to make sure the S/C works well and efficently?

or could do wut white said....mods mods mods

full exhaust, gears, tb, etc...

wheels,hood, etc...

but idk, almost 400RWHP would be pretty nice tho...rofl...

after S/C, we talkn LOW 13's HIGH 12's in times? :D jw

whitethunder46 02-16-2006 09:16 PM

You're basically right on. But with a blower, you're gonna break things on that stock motor, and risking hurting that stock block. Say the worst happens and you blow the block, you're screwed, just spent all that on a s/c and now you have nothing left.

m0nkeh 02-16-2006 09:19 PM

thats true...wrgserdfvbearsv!!!!!!!!!!!

lets say i spent 4K on BOLTons, how much RWHP we talkn? not much im guessing....lol

is there NOWAY i could afford an 03-04 cobra engine?

whitethunder46 02-16-2006 09:24 PM

A 03/04 Cobra long block, not even an engine, just the long block is 7,695.00 Brand new of course.

You know what I'd do? IF IF you wanted to really put effort in it, do a 5.4L DOHC engine. A 5.4L SOHC is kinda a waste of money imo. Try a 5.4L DOHC. At Steenracing they did a 5.4L DOHC single 101mm turbo, all out with full race heads, cams, etc. Numbers on it? 1,488RWHP, 1007?RWTQ.

whitethunder46 02-16-2006 09:27 PM

I stand corrected..... 03/04 ENGINE with supercharger is 7,495. But you still need harness pulleys, headers, etc.

m0nkeh 02-16-2006 10:14 PM

well nothx on the engine then...lol so my options are...

junkload of mods and ALITTLE exterior mos..

or a s/c

Lances03SVT 02-17-2006 01:46 AM

I say mod the hell out of it.All the bolt on's,a dyno tune, wheels, interior upgrades etx.

White04GT 02-17-2006 04:31 AM

I'm retarded for stating my opinion? Stanger00 aren't you the same person that blew your tranny? Oh yea thats right. Sorry but personally if my car had 68k miles I wouldn't put a S/C on it..I'd rather do bolt on's and a tune and alot of nice little dress ups..but don't call me retarded when your dumbass has no room to talk..thx

White04GT 02-17-2006 04:33 AM

IceFreezen, Spraying is alot cheaper then investing all the money that you have to on a S/C..I mean when I hit 80k miles on my car I will be trading it in and getting a new car, But I am already trading in my car this summer and getting a 5 spd mach 1..Auto's just suck and are no fun...

MattJ 02-17-2006 05:41 AM

I think you should spend all that money on crack and hookers. I sure would...

m0nkeh 02-17-2006 06:20 AM

i like the pink cars...lol

and autos arnt NOT fun, just not exiting to drive...lol

im sticking with my car for ATLEAST 3 yrs....so i need to kinda plan out what im doin and sumhow be able to get a new engine and stuff in 3 years so i dont got too many miles....if i could SOMEHOW keep the car for along time and have it upgraded alot, id love to keep it, but idk yet... might sound retarded to keep an 00 GT huh? =\

Imma prolly go into MT and make a big shopping cart for fun and see what i could get :D and i could ALWAYS do all these mods, and save alittle of it and start saving for a used new engine and etc, and by yr 3 of sooner get a S/C...but it all depends on the monmey flow and what i decide to do...

Rabbit 02-17-2006 07:08 AM

Here is what you can get for $6,500 excluding labor(it'll be an exact copy of my car, but you get the idea!) I had this in a thread, but I'm too lazy to search for it. With the bolt ons and nitrous I'm guessing you would be within 50rwhp of the s/c alone, but you would have tons of other visual mods to go with it!

nah, It's all factory as of now (besides the radio). IT's the tan/parchment, and damn I wish it was black. (all that stuff on the list is a "to do". Just starting to order the stuff.)

I'm in the process now of figuring the cost of changing the interior over to black. I have a friend who does custom interiors and want to do a DSG/Black scheme.

whitethunder46 02-17-2006 10:25 AM

Yea, I want to do some of the billet interior, i.e.: window switches, A/C knobs, A/C faceplate, radio bezel. I just dont know how it would look if everything was done

m0nkeh 02-17-2006 10:29 AM

i dont want chrome knobs since im not goin with a black n chrome theme, i want black n dark red, my friend suggested doin my interior pieces (wutever clicks out) a blue...idk how that would look...

i think thats a good way to go. it will look good, sound good and have a noticeable increase in performance. not as much as the supercharger of course but it will be a sweet ride none the less.
MT is going to love you for this, but dont forget you have to pay shipping for the body kit and paint + installation. you're going to have to get the tires mounted and balanced on the wheels, actually you forgot to mention (unless i dont see it) buying the wheels for your new rims. and you dont need a chin spoiler for the roush body kit. other than that the list looks good to me :)

m0nkeh 02-17-2006 12:13 PM

qlright, and il have 1.7K ROUGHLY, to get tires, mount etc, plus install gears and get tuned...and hopfully enough to paint my whole car black (cant i just get the kit on, then repaint it all black and the whole car will look new?)

the kit has FREE shipping from stage3 :D, i also wanna get a hood but idk if id have enough (cobra hood that has the 2.5inch COIL...)

whitethunder46 02-17-2006 12:50 PM

well, repainting the whole car would be a lot. But since you're car is black, it's a common paint, so it'll match up just fine. Then what I'd do is just get it professionally detailed, waxed, buffed, polished. This is what I'm doing when I get my kit fixed this spring.

Also, if you plan on getting street tires, don't skimp out on them since they will cost you. I'm gonna be getting BFG KDW2's. 265/35/18 and 295/35/18 cost is 900! dollars from Tirerack with S&H.

just rough guessing but in order to do what you want here, you may have to drop the cobra brakes! that should give you just enough to do what you want. (figure 1700-800[tires]-100[mount/balance]-?300?[tune/install gears]=$500 left. )

and a $500 paint job isn't going to get you a nice finish!!! But take out the brakes, and a $1k paint job should be nice! :beerchug:

MattJ 02-17-2006 04:40 PM

Use that money for a college education or a down payment towards a house so stick it into some high yeild savings acount. If you have to save your ass off for a SLP catback, you dont need to be forkin that much money into your car.

Lances03SVT 02-17-2006 04:51 PM

Tires for the 18's are not cheap!!!
