Default I just shorted my car...

I was trying to get my head unit to work. it stopped working when i went to pull it out this morning bc a speaker wasnt working.

Then the head unit only would take cds in and spit em out but wouldnt actually work.

then i accidentally touched a wire with my head unit and it sparked and the lights stopped working.

then i touched two orange wires together and the dome light went off and the lights for the window switches went out

then i touched two more wires together by accident and the gauges all went out .

now im stuck in my car it starts and goes but the only lights that work are the headlights. . . nothing interior.

help????
am i fucked???

What was this? Try and see how many fuses you can blow without burning down your car?

Put the wire cutters down, and step away from the vehicle, please. Invest in a digital multimeter before you pick them up again.

Fuses. I have been through this nightmare. Damn sequential turn signals. Blew about 50% of my fuses 3 months after installing. Including some totally unrelated to the lighting. Just do your best to get your wiring in one piece and get those fuses replaced. and BE CAREFUL next time

As someone who worked in the car audio industry for 22 years, the first rule of thumb is whenever you're working with anything electrical, unhook the damn battery.

Haha I'm sitting here in the dark waiting for my girl trying to think of a good explanation..

So basically I blew a bunch of fuses and need to replace them? Is it the fuse box under the hood or I think there's one under the steering wheel area too that it might be. I just really want this fixed so I can never play with electric again

Check the panel under the dash first, replace all the blown fuses there, and then just for ***** and giggles, check the one under the hood but i doubt any will be blown under there.
