Default od light flashing

driving home last night, i got on the car hard and once i stopped the o.d light light started flashing. The rpms started to build around 3500 and up with no response from gaining speed, o.d was non-existent and also seemed to cruise once i decelerated.I drove the car today this morning and everything was back to normal and o.d started to work again. i know the flashing o.d is a way of warning you about the tranny but wondering if its just the converter, or soon to be bad tranny,or etc.fluids were normal as well, other then that, what are your opinions on this?
also its a 2002 mustang gt

I honestly dont know. But I really cant believe that a tran w/ that many miles would have problems.

flashing light means either a miss fire or a tranny problem. It more then likely stored some codes and I would start by getting those read at a local auto parts store.

You were able to drive the car still with a broken input shaft?

I would not waste my money going to a manual tranny to me its not worth the money to swap. I would talk to Darrin at bcautomotive cause they build badass 4r70w trannys.
