Default gearing

I have a 2003 mustang gt it has 3.27 rear end gears i want to put 3.73 in it is it worth the money to do that? Its going to cost me around $562.22 labor and parts. Also was wondering if anyone could tell me the difference inthe quarter mile time between the two gears

Go with 4.10 you will be more happy with those and I have heard that they can take .3+ of your 1/4

Gears are more than worth it. You really get your money's worth. '97 would come with something like 3:08 or maybe 2:73 or something like that.

That price sounds about right. Make sure you're getting the gear, install kit, and oil in that price. Go with 4.10's. The difference isn't huge, but you'll feel it. Everybody talked the 4.10's up so much that I was ready for something huge. When I first punched it, I was a little disappointed. None the less, you will feel the difference.

do you go on the highway alot, if not then get the 4.10's? i make alot of highway trips to state college, pa from around phildelphia and i can only go 240 miles before filling up..before with the stock 3.27's i could go 320.

so if your a highway goer, get the 3.73's

x2.

I went from a 3.31 to a 4.10. I am sooooo glad I did not go with 3.73's. I would have been incredibly pissed at myself, and probably would not have felt much of a difference. 4.10's are the way to go.
