Default tuner and warranty?

my friend just got an 07 shelby gt and wants to put a little money into it so i told him to go with gears and a tune first.. he said his dad doesnt want to keep the warranty so would a sct or diablo mail in tuner void the warranty?

is he crazy, on an 07 gt, c'mon now
im all for putting money into it but theres stuff you can do without voiding the warranty

i assume you meant he DOES want to keep the warranty.

a tuner reprograms the computer, but when taking it in for warranty work you SHOULD be able to put the stock tune on, and they should NOT be able to tell it was ever tampered with

with the gears the speedo will be off, but they probably wont notice. and unless they wanna crack the pumpkin and count threads, they wont know it has 4:10s so he should be fine.

yes sorry, he does want to keep the warranty.. i explained that i thought he would be able to put the stock tune back on but i dno if thats gonna cut it for his dad

If he got a stock Mustang GT and added the FRPP packs, he would of had a Shelby GT, and cash left over for more mods. It really pisses me off how much Ford/Shelby is making on that car.

Yes, you can add a tuner and when you take it to the dealership just restore the original tune. Your friend could also find a SVT Ford stealership and they might install a set of ford racing gears....it will for sure put a huge hole in his pocket, but they might warranty the work.

k thanks guys and yeah i told him to just get a gt and mod it but his parents were cool with gettin him the shelby
