Default CDC Shaker Kit Install

Hey I just bought the CDC Shaker kit for my 03 GT and was wondering if anyone has installed one before??? Do you think it can be done at home in the driveway or should I pay for the shop to put it in...the only thing that looks kinda sketchy is the cutting of the hood.

it shouldnt be that hard to do. just pay attention when using the template and use a steady hand when cutting the hood.

post pics of the process and put em up on here, show us how it is done

it wont fit.

it can be MADE to fit, this guy did exactly that, used a CDC shaker with a stock mach1 hood.

https://mustangboards.com/reference-...1-hood-v6.html

honestly, the effort involved looks to be more of a pain in the *** than just cutting the stock hood.

www.Karkraft.com offers a FRPP shaker setup with a bracked to fit it on the 2valve v8's and that WILL work with a stock hood, that is the setup im running.

No, but if you buy a CDC shaker setup and want to use a Mach 1 hood, that is what you have to do.

easier just to cut a hold in the stock hood IMO

i really wanted to use a mach1 hood, it sticks up higher and looks better than the plastic piece in my view, so thats why i bought the karkraft setup.

As for performance, yeah i feel a little more getup and go on the highway, but that is really it. More than anything it just looks cool as ****.

No it's mostly for show....I think the designer of the mach 1 said the only time it really works is above 75mph and it might yeild a 1/2-1hp.

damn I miss my mach.

what about the v6? Would all that work for a v6 also or just the 8?

I ont know if it will work, CDC has a V6 Kit, however, as far as i know the KarKraft bracket is only designed for 2v GT's...

actually i just checked, i dont even see that they sell the brackets anymore.

you could always call them, or just get some sheet metal and and make your own brackets
