Default 4.10's

I decided to purchase the 4.10's and need to know everything im goin to need to correct the spedometer and any other helpful information i might need to know like how much for the entire install

I have a 35th anniversary 1999 gt
5 speed

thanx

1 more thing motive or ford gears
looking for an easy install

If you have a predator you can correct it. Ive seen install prices range usually from 2-300 bucks

i just paid 275 to have my gears reinstalled and that was with new bearings and everything

You can either get a speed-cal or get a tune.Ford or Motive its a personal choice.

im getting mine done as i type this ...there charging 250...i choose motive because theres no difference other than price..ill post bak when i feel wat 4.10s are like

The Motive gears only come with the ring and pinion so you have to but at least the installation kit, I think the Ford gears come with the basic kit so the prices are pretty close but you will need a speedcal...You could go to http://www.dallasmustang.com/index.mvc?p=973101 they got em for like 100 bucks...I'll be getting one in a week for my gears that I should have in like 3 weeks...damn biweekly checks.

they come with only gears.

An installation kit will have new bearings, crush sleeve and shims. I have always bought a installtion kit when swapping gears just to be safe. Also I use the Ford racing gears because they are easier to install due to the master housing dimension that they use.

well i just finish piking up my gt with the new 4.10s and just like everyone else im shocked to see that my pony is a different monster....its awake its alive and its pissed....i have no prob in the highway at all cruisng at 2000rpm with the other cars..and the car feels so much better in stop n go traffic.. like it dosnt struggle as much .......by far the best thing n e one can do to there gt......



only thing is i really dont kno how fast im going cuz its off by alot but the xcal-2 will fix that

Im going with 4.30s on my DOHC swap and most say this is the same as putting 4.10s on SOHC. Has anyone driven two stangs with these gears and know for sure?

The cheapest way to do it is get a Dallas Mustang's Speed Calibrator. Its about $100 and you can change the gear ratio to and from whatever you want.

www.Brothersperformance.com has them for like 80 bucks but I haven't talked to anyone who has used them...I might cause I'm about an hour away from their warehouse. I hate waited for parts to arrive.
